Well, we realized not include them on the visa was a mistake... As I'll spend 2 weeks in OZ in november (to "activate the visa") and move there only in august, am I already eligible to sponsor my girlfriend for a patner visa? Maybe I need an adress in OZ for that?

Hello, I own a permanent resident vuisa (189) and I'll settle in Australia next August. My girlfriend and our daughter will follow me with a tourist visa, so I have to organize a private insurance for them. - Am I elligible for medicare as soon as I settle in Australia, or is there a waiting period? - In any case my girlfriend is pregnant from a second child (before or after we enter Australia), could we benefit from medicare assistance for maternity issues, if I justify that I am the father? Hello, i got my 189 visa...amazing!!!! I go to OZ for 2 weeks in november to "activate it", then I'll move there to settle in august with my girlfriend and daughter. Does anyone know when am I considered as a "permanent resident"? As I'll keep working and living outside Australia until august, before "starting my new life", should I take contact with the Australian Social Security and Tax Office since november, or only in august when I'll move ther for good? Hi! I'm about to lodge my 189 visa application, which means I filled all the pages and now have to pay... I have got all the documents I am supposed to attach with the online application as required in "skill select document check list", except the 1393 form: impossible to find that form! Even on the "all forms" web page...Somebody can help? Is it an online document to fill after payment? Thanks!

Well, thanks for all these answers! Actually I passed IELTS, got my assessment and received my invitation. I now have until 4th of january to lodge the application. I filed it and have now have to...pay...and before I do that, I try to get all the documents I should attach. Well, one year after the visa is granted seem comfortable to organise everything before leaving my...old life. Nicolas

I am at the moment preparing to lodge my 189 visa application. - It is supposed to take up to 1 year to get an answer (yes you can move to OZ / No, we don't want to see you)...does it really take that long? - In case the visa is granted, how much time do you have to present yourself at the australian border for validation? Hello, I am collecting the different documents I'll need to lodge an online 189 visa application (skilled visa - permanent) It is read in skill select and various booklets that the attached documents shall be certified true copies....what's the point if it is a scanned document?! Can't I simply scan the original documents? Thanks for the help!

As me and my girlfriend are not married, I think I'll need a "statuatory declaration" to claim we ve lived together for 9 years. What kind of official can witness this kind of document outside from australia (any mayor, or notary from the applicant country?...)??? Thanks a lot! Nicolas
