1. it will have registered on the passport when you entered the country, the visa is electronic and attached to your passport.
 2. I just had a look at the csol and it has TRA next to cabinet maker.
 3. Just make sure you read the guidelines very carefully and tick off each part as you get the evidence for it. If he has some periods of self employment then it is trickier as you need so much more evidence.
 4. not sure as 2 of ours are kids so they may need less.
 5. when we filled out the state nomination application a few months ago we had to write a figure over $40000 for our family of four, it wouldn't let you proceed to the next page unless you had that minimum amount down. We never had to show evidence but it sounds like thd new criteria is asking for evidence now.
 6. phew, good to know! have to do a bit more reading up about it all, thanks
 7. I am just about to start packing and I am wondering the same thing as I have some wooden carved ornaments from different places. A couple look like they have been varnished but a couple don't so I was going to varnish them myself, do you think this would be ok? Also I am surprised by the above list, surely everything on there can't be prohibited! I was going to bring the kids trike and scooters (obviously cleaned properly first) and also some small kitchen appliances which are quite new. And whats with the pianos and violins, I don't have any but imagine those that do are quite partial to them!
 8. Unfortunately we don't arrive until end of May, hope you find someone though.
 9. sorry, can't help but hopefully someone else can.
 10. sorry not sure about current times but it shouldn't be too long. what is your occupation?
 11. Hi, can't comment on transferring liscenses etc but for the visas, getting out there and having some money to set up and live on for a couple of months is going to be £20000+ (family of four)
 12.

no not heard yet thats 9 days now, its just frustrating how they are so difficult to communicate with. I can see us having to wait up til after 1am to ring again and even then we aren't guaranteed any answers! What is the deal with this 'best fit' policy anyway, i tried researching but couldnt find anything about it. I don't know what to ask about if i ring them, did they explain it properly to you? is it that they can now assess you under the trade that best fits your application whereas they could only assess under the occupation you asked for previously?

 13.

so is it correct that you originally applied to be assessed as a chef but they contacted you and basically gave you the option to change and be assessed as a cook instead? im hoping that as you did this they will review my oh's as a cook as well but not holding out much hope!

hi there, thought i would write here instead of continuing to hijack someone elses thread!

Really good news that you were successful, it must be such a relief! its all pretty straightforward from here apparently...we still have no reply to the email we sent to TRA a week ago:mask: we basically asked if they would do the review but re-assess as a cook or would we have to send a new application in to apply as cook.
