  1. alan, we got a successful outcome from TRA for the occupation of cook with nvq level 2, we didnt give any evidence of supervised work, just work evidence post qualification. We did fail the first atempt under occupation of chef as the nvq 2 wasnt considered comaprable to AQF3. From what I now understand I think it is because chef and cook are very similar just in Australia to be classed as a chef you train longer for higher qualification. This is different to uk as hubby trained for 2 years, got nvq level 2 and was considered here as a qualified chef.
  2. congrats kaiser, good news for you! 5 weeks is fast, we were 7 and also never heard from case officer...enjoy the celebrations:biggrin:
  3. no i think it was back on next day, looks like the immi website is being updated so maybe they are making changes to it or something
  4. good news for you, it wasn't good enough for hubbys original occupation of chef but was for cook, which we got a successful with in the end. on to the next stage for you now!
  5. I just tried and looks like website down, try again later or tomorrow. It happened when I did mine as well https://www.ecom.immi.gov.au/inquiry...o?action=eVisa#sthash.vzOzUFvf.dpuf
  6. Some areas near Perth are still considered regional for 489 aren't they? or is it dependent on whether its family or state sponsored visa?
  7. once you lodge the application you can log back in and upload documents as and when you want but its advisable to have them uploaded before case officer allocation, meds and pcc's can be left until case officer requests them though.
  8. If you are british you dont have to sit IELTS as they consider that your english will be equivalent to the minimum requirement of 6 (unless your chosen occupation has higher requirements) but most people do sit it to achieve the required points for the EOI. If you have 60 points without needing the extra from IELTS then you dont need to do it.
  9. Hi There, what is your occupation and which state are you hoping to get the 190 from?
  10. sorry that doesnt help then mrs keily. rink, schedule 2 means you have to have a job offer.
  11. Mrs Keily, Restaurant manager is still on the Northern Territory skills list. maybe an option to go there for 2 years then after that they are free to move state?
  12. We are off to Perth but not sure where yet, will have a look around and see where suits us. Not going til May though :skeptical:
  13. TRA was the pain in our arse! the occupation my hubby got visa for was removed as well today so we got it just in time! you probably need 3 or 4 payslips for each year you are claiming in EOI for work experience also any p60's any p45's, a few bank statements, employer letters with hours worked and start finish dates. If you are self employed then accountant letter, accounts, bank statements etc. Its not as bad as TRA and the good bit is if the case officer needs more info he will ask for it.
  14. I think if you have enough points for 189 then go that route, you can suspend or remove your current EOI and lodge one for 189. It takes a bit longer this way and invites only given out twice monthly but the benefit is it is more flexible. Once you lodge visa application it shows you a list of documents you have to upload for each applicant(although some may not apply to you) things like passports, birth certificates, skills assessment, ielts, police character clearance, medicals/health, work experience evidence for the years you claim in your EOI, qualifications.
  15. cowling, each state has their own list of occupations they will sponsor for 190 and 489 visas, so if your occupation is schedule 2 for Wa then there may be another state that has it on their full list, if you are open to moving to another state. After lodging an EOI for 190 visa, after a few days the WA government contact you and ask you to apply for state nomination, this involves doing a little test on your knowledge of WA (easy and they give you websites to look at) and an application form, you lodge this and pay thestate nomination fee, $100 I think.A few days later they will contact you again if you are successful and offer you an invitation to apply for the actual 190 visa. after you lodge the 190 visa(pay the chunk of money) and upload all the documents you then have the wait for case officer and you can do medicals and police checks around then. Not sure how it will work now your occupation is schedule 2, but you can lodge anotherEOI if you decide to go for another visa type or SS for another state.
  16. the schedule 2 criteria are that you have to have a job to go to for 12 months, so if your occupation is on the sol for 189 then that is the best option
  17. yes, it automatically adds it on if you select that you are going for state sponsorship 190 visa
  18. If you go onto skillselect website the click 'reports' tab below the yellow skillselect sign, then 'occupational ceilings' and this shows how many invites have been issued for each occupation.

    Gutted!!!

Schedule 2 does mean you need an employer to sponsor you.
  20. We applied for 190 with WA and were never asked for actual evidence, just asked how much we had (had to write $40000 for our family of 4) but didn't ever have to show proof. Other states may be different though and not sure about 189 visa.
  21. The visa prices went up in July and September so it is a lot more than it was, when we first started the process it would have been $3060, after Julys increase we had to pay double for the 190 application $6120 (for our family of four)! Yes the next step after skills assessment and IELTS is to do your EOI. It doesnt take long to get the invite for state sponsorship after this. Medicals are around the £300 mark per adult depending which clinic you use. Police checks are £45 per adult.
  22. You may as well wait a week and find out before sending off your skill assessment.
  23. Hi Dean, just checked and they have just put this info on today I think. http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/skilledmigration/Pages/LatestNews.aspx
  24. If your occupation is removed before you have lodged the actual visa application then it will be tough luck I'm afraid. The new skills list should be out any time, it was supposed to be 1st October. What is your occupation?
