  1. I know you'll think this is a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway. When you get off your first flight, is your luggage automatically transferred to your second flight or do you have to claim your luggage and check it in again yourself. I've never caught a connecting flight before. Debs
  2. I passed mine with flying colours. I had a tumour removed from my spine in 2011. I still take medication because it although its only at night. You should be fine. Debs
  3. Maybe he wants to be 100% sure of your relationship before allowing you to give up everything and move across the world for him. I dated a guy from Belfast for a while. He wanted to give up his home, family, job and move here to live with me. I kept putting him off because I wasn't 100% sure it's what I wanted. I didn't want him to give up everything for me and then 6 months down the line I decide its not for me and he's homeless, jobless and far from family. So for that reason I asked for more time. And I was right to because it didn't work out. maybe just give him a bit more time, but in the meantime, there's no reason why you can't go out with your friends and have some fun. Debs
  4. I would like to say how sorry I am to all the posters who have been assaulted or found themselves in an unsafe situation x x
  5. Omg. Diet starts tomorrow. Don't wanna upset the passenger next to me on my next flight. If I lose a certain amount of weight though does that allow me to burp and fart at my leisure??? I need clarification. Debs
  6. I always get in to see my GP same day so long as i phone at 8am. I can also access a walk in centre close to me. Open till 10pm. Never had a problem tbh. Debs
  7. That's revolting. I would disown my 2 sons if they did that. Their parents must be horrified. One of my sons has got a terrible temper. I mean like his veins pulsate in his head when he's got a cob on. He's never been in a fight though. Just storms off to cool down. Debs
  8. What do they mean when they say a 'king hit'? Debs
  9. i moved to Widnes about 10 years ago. Only to avoid crossing that stupid bridge everyday. Now I only cross it now and then. Debs
  10. Ha ha. Listen, I have trouble giving this body away, never mind selling it!! Debs
  11. Errrm. Matalan is where the good looking people shop!!!
  12. Ssshhhh pabs lol. Can't be doing with all the typical scouser comments. And FYI it was a whole new wardrobe. Went in the shop a size 8 and come out looking a size 14. Would've run but physically couldn't due to the extra cloth like ha ha. Debs
  13. I got arrested in my youth. Not gonna say what it was for but mine came back with no criminal convictions. Phew. And ye, SS is state sponsorship. Debs (the crim).
  14. I have been really lucky that my sons father has allowed me to take our son to Australia with me. They have daily contact and I know my son will miss his dad terribly and vice versa. It must be really hard for my ex as I know for sure that I would be heartbroken if it was the other way around. If the tables were turned I wouldn't stand in my sons way of experiencing A different kind of life. Unfortunalty, we as adults are quite selfish when it comes to our children and tend to want what's best for us. It could, however, have gone another way. My ex could have stood in our way just to hack me off. I have kept him posted on every step of our visa process, and when we make the move I will fly to the uk periodically to reunite my son and his dad. We will also Skype on a weekly basis. We have been mature about the whole thing which is the best way if you can manage it. i am going on my own with my son. I don't know how my ex would have been if I was going with a partner though. Again, I think it would have been a whole different ball game. good luck with court. If it doesn't go the way you hoped, just try to remember that the courts will rule their decision on the best interests of the child. And at the end of the day, we all only want what's best for our kids. Debs
  15. Just re read it. You have to prove one or the other lol. So the op would still need to have a proof of address and would need time to sort that out. Would be a bit dodgy trying to do that within a week. I agree with you nic. Would be easier to let it lapse and re register. Debs
  16. I've got my registration and need to validate before sept. I've just looked at the requirements for validating on the e-mail they sent me and it looks like you have to prove something from boxes a,b,c and d. D says if you have arrived in Australia and been there for less than 6 weeks you have to have evidence of address and an offer of employment. That's how I've read it anyway. I would hate for you to book a flight and not be able to validate after all. Maybe it would be cheaper to register again. Can someone have a look and tell me if I'm reading it wrong. Debs
  17. Visa granted today. Woo hoo. will celebrate on my Xmas night out. Yay. Debs
  18. Ha ha. When I go to bed a fall into a coma. When everyone in work is talking about he weather through the night I haven't got a clue what they're talking about!! I'm soooo tired. I work a 12 hour shift every other sat too. When I go out for our Xmas night I'll probably only have a coupe of drinks and get sent home in a taxi drunk lol. debs
  19. Your house will probably sell in the new year pabs. Property prices starting to rise and the government help to buy scheme should help. My house has been on the market for 5 weeks and its driving me mad. The estate agent has got the keys in case anyone wants to just drop in and view it. Such a pain in the bum. Gotta Hoover, and mop the floors every morning and run round like a woman possessed grabbing our undies and stuff off the radiators before I leave for work at 7.30. I then drive to Speke to drop jonny off with his dad for school, then drive to Warrington to start work at 9. Then by the time I get home it's about 6pm. Start the tea, iron uniforms, make packed lunches, wash dishes, do homework with jonny and maybe squeeze in a clothes wash. Then I stop work and go to bed to get up at 5.30!!!! to do it all again. This has been my routine for the past 5 weeks and I swear its gonna be the death of me lol. Hope you are able to overcome your obstacles. Debs
  20. You could go to SA for 2 years then move to WA. Debs
  21. I used an agent but only because time wasn't on my side and I couldn't afford to make any mistakes. If I knew then what I know now I would have done it myself. The agent I used was John Adams from immigration2oz and I have to say they have been brill. I don't think it matters what your occupation is. An immigration agent should be able to advise any person who wants a visa. However, you should choose an agent that is MARA registered. There are a couple that are recommended on here if you read through past posts. Its not so hard to do yourself once you get the hang of it. Ask questions on here. There are lots of people who have been through the process who can advise including an agent. Hope this helps and good luck. Debs
  22. It was just that someone on perth poms thinks that the changes with AHPRA will include not allowing diploma nurses to have registration. I have looked on their web page and although it does say there are changes, it doesn't say what the changes are. I have got my letter of eligibility but am a diploma nurse. I have to validate registration by sept 2014. I suppose I am just worrying that they'll cancel my registration before I validate if they stop diploma nurses. However, the person who posted that couldn't give a direct link to that info so it may just be a rumour. I would have thought they would have contacted me and let me know if that was the case. Debs
  23. Sandom1, if you don't mind me asking, do you have a nursing degree or diploma. Debs
