  1. I am planning to take a year out and travel round Australia as i am 3 years too old for the WHV. It states On the tourist visa application that i may need to prove i have enough funds to support myself for one year. Does anyone know how much they will be looking for? Is there a set required amount?
  2. Thank you Debs, you were so fast i was still typing when you sent your advice! I'm with you on the "i cant afford to make mistakes" because it all adds on extra time and then things need to be done again. Thank you
  3. Thank you, wow speedy responses. Time is a massive issue, i am so busy with work right now and then when i start to do anything I'm tired and miss things and make mistakes, which is frustrating! Think for the reassurance i'll probably go with one. Are they specialists in their own industry, or is an agent an agent whatever?
  4. Who else has hired an agent to get things moving for them? Successful? What made you decide to hire an agent rather than do it yourself? Any recommendations for the most reliable and the easiest to understand!? Am about to go down the agent route . Is there anything special i need to do before getting in touch with one? There seems to be a lot of them out there, i am in equestrian. Should i try to go for a specialist in that area or doesn't it matter? confused!!
  5. Thank you for your advice. I have booked myself a telephone consultation taking place in a few days time so i will see what they think. I am thinking it may be easier to just pay a migration agent to sort everything out for me as i am going round in circles and getting nowhere! My main concern is the salary, the job offer i have had does not hit the $53,000 target for the 457 visa, so another thing i need to know is, is there a way around it. For example being paid the target amount but then paying a hefty rent, or paying for use of facilities.
  6. Thank you for replying Blossom. I have looked on the sol list and the closest thing to it is horse trainer. Apparently I have to be able to prove and so does my employer, that I am going to be training horses not just caring for them. Which is fair enough though Im not sure how you prove that, video maybe. i will keep plugging away the more information I can find the better ill be thanks again
  7. Has anyone else had any experience in obtaining a 457 through equine work? I am a qualified equine behaviourist and am looking for permanent work. Either producing young sport horses, re training problem horses, managing agistment/private stable or a mixture of the above. My problem is age, I am just about to turn 33 so a working holiday is not an option. Does anyone know of anyone else going through or having gone through this?Advice greatly appreciated!
