  1. I didnt put anything about any act in my.
  2. Hi, Janine Im sorry I came across as I did it wrong of me without knowing you or your situation. But unfortunately for you your kids were born when father automatically get PR, what you would need to do is go and get a court order in the Uk stating that he hasnt had contact and get the judge to rule that you can take them otherwise you wouldnt be able to take them as DIAC would want to see proof that you have permission. The only other way round this would be for you to get your visa, then let the kids come out for a holiday then apply to the courts in Oz saying that your kids do not want to return (I asked this from my agent just in case the kids wanted to come and live with me) I was told not to even try to get them a visa or go for custody, if the kids are over 12 I was told that Ozzy courts would listen to the child and if they wanted to stay in Oz no court in the country would make them return to the Uk.
  3. I wouldn't stand for that mate, if the kids is born in Oz then your missis wouldnt be able to take the child out of Oz without your permission, if the child is born in the Uk then you are just a sperm donor, even with PR.
  4. Thanks Ali, it is hard 3 weeks before we leave and it has caused me nothing but trouble on the family front but I wont let the ex hold me or the kids to ransom like she has. Im sure the OP is in the right and her bloke is useless but thats what my ex says about me lol.
  5. Can we transfer our money to Oz but keep it in ££ until the exchange rate get better?
  6. My ex has just let slip that she is not going to let my kids come and stay with me in oz unles i or a family member return to fetch them and then re deliver them back to the uk each time, she was waiting until we paid her the lump sum maintainance we had discussed and we were in oz before telling me this but hey kids have ears. So being a bloke on the receiving end of a totally callous biatch i do at times find it hard to sympathise with women in your position as i have had to see a solicitor every other year to get access to my kids (well when they were younger and less vocal) and i can understand why some men would end up not seeing their kids because the mother makes life so difficult for them and the kids. Im not saying that this is the case with you but women can be the nastiest pieces of work at times. Now mine are 12 and 14 im hoping they will make up their own minds and pressure her that much that she gives in.
  7. Hi all, We land in Perth on the 23rd for our permanent move, there is me and my wife (we just got stitched or is it hitched) i am on a 176 visa so we can get medicare when we land so do we need private medical insurance? I had a microdiscectomy (prolapsed disc) back in 2011 and the OH has asthma and wears glasses and contacts (see the getting married to me bit). Although i dont have a problem with my back now its always in the back of my mind so I was thinking the going private would ge the way to go, i have done a few comparisons but TBH im still clueless about it all so any advice would be appreciated.
  8. Ill look into it, we have been looking at buying a motorhome which we could also sell when we have finished with it. More than likely though we will just stump up the $$$$$$$ for a holiday rental. Thanks for your input blossom it has given us a few more options
  9. I would be up for camping but the OH is used to her creature comforts so that may be a last resort.
  10. Eventually the house had been sold, we have moved in with the mother in-law the car has gone for shipping so we just need to find somewhere to live. Its just that all the short terms are so much money its untrue, and being a Yorkshire man parting with money when its not justified is hard to do. But with us needing to be in Perth when the car arrives it looks like we may have to splash the cash for a short while until we find a realistically priced rental. Does anyone know of any furnished short term rentals or even unfurnished which would accept online bookings. We are always looking on the usual sites so i am trying for a word of mouth rental or if anyone has a friend who needs to rent out theirs for a month or 2. cheers.
  11. You can get your white card online, I did mine and it was posted to me in the Uk in around 10 days.
  12. Ive always fancied being cast out to sea on a burning boat, after I have died of course.
  13. I fell into the latter parts and it wasnt deffo thank god.
  14. It has been a pain in the ass, more to do with incompotent estate agents the 1st 2 buyers. But if anything goes wrong with this 1 the house will be rented out and we will go with what we have. We are not prepared to wait any longer and we would prob get more for the house in a year or 2.
  15. Id fractured the ocasional law in the Uk when I was a youth, and strange as it may seam a criminal record doesnt automatically get you into Oz anymore.
  16. No go matilda said I would not get a visa full stop, ASA said it should not be a problem and they were right. ***Alan from GoMatilda has just informed me that they do not have any Aussies working in their Uk office, I was sure I talked to a Aussie but it was 2/3 years ago so take my advice at your own peril****
  17. You can just collect your belongings from the port where they are shipped to.
  18. Good luck with the search, I hope you find your lost brother.
  19. I would give Go Matilda a wide berth IMO, they told me I had no chance of getting any visa, and now I have a permanent resident visa (In your face Go Matilda) we used ASA.
  20. The house sale should be signed today, third time lucky and a loss of £15k on the asking price but it will be worth it to finally get to Oz perminantly in July. We are just hoping that it doesnt go **** up again like the last 2 sales.
  21. I doubt she would still be covered under her holiday insurance as this illness has been brought to light before she was due to travel, they may refund her for her losses for flights etc. but thats about all.
  22. Most of the northerners will be trades and able to earn way more than the southern monkeys. Funny how you describe northerners as people above Watford, to us your a southern monkey if you live bellow Derbyshire. If North Perth is full of "northerners" it must be a great place to live as we notherners are salt of the earth (Yorkshire men even more so) and ive not met anyone from England leaving the Uk because of the northerners.
  23. These are short term holiday lets, if you have all the ID for a normal rental get yourself on the big rental sites.
  24. The rents on ozhouserentals are a bit of a joke for the new immigrant on some of the properties TBH if cash is tight stick south of the river- way south, the sister site http://pomsinperth.com has some much more affordable rentals which are just as good in the north. They dont have the selection as ozhouse.
