Hi Myself and my partner were due to leave the Uk next month to start a life in oz, flights are booked! We have just found out that my partner needs an operation on the knee. The question is to stay in uk longer to have op or to get to oz and eventually have op there?? We have paid for flights and will be charged to change them. We both hold PR visas and are confused about what healthcare we are entitled to? My partner works in fitness so being fit is essential for the job. Help much appreciated :-)

Hi everyone Will arrive in WA in August and because we currently dont have a job, we are not sure what area to consider for temp rental accomodation? Any suggestions on what areas may be good to act as a base whilst applying for jobs/long term rental etc? Somewhere easily accessible and not too expensive. Also any websites for temp accomodation, please pass on names. Many thanks Jane

thanks rammygirl, yeah the agency did send me the grant notice from DIAC and a copy of VEVO, but was just wondering if this was correct. Sounds fine so feel happier now. All these things going through my head its going to explode lol!

Hi Will be arriving in Perth end of June and looking for some temporary accommodation to arrive to that's not going to cost the earth until we secure a more permanent rental. Does anyone have suggestions on where to look? Don't know where to start and I am a little worried on securing a rental as i have read it can be difficult. Hi Just out of curiosity does those that have had there visa granted have an electronic visa or paper visa? My visa was granted after using an agency. They advised that my visa was electronic and that when i arrive in oz it will show up on system. They offered us to have a paper version (stamp in passport??) but would have to pay more for this. Can anyone advise? Jane

Visa just approved this month, and have looked at rentals but when to start looking seriously and enquire etc?

Hi We are moving to WA in June 2013 and wondering when we should start looking for rentals? Any advice? We are planning on renting first before buying when settled. Also just wondering if anyone knows if we can actually buy property over there through a mortgage on a permanent resident visa? If so should we apply for the mortgage now or when there? :eek: Thanks Jane

Thanks Bob, may do that and decide closer to the time. Geraldine that is a fair point as we may have to live in temp accomodation before we go. Decisions decisions!
