  1. Did you not get sponsored red by the state of WA, are you able to just move without putting your visa at risk.
  2. You can arrange to collect it at the post at destination, or arrange a delivery from there.
  3. RJJfreight, http://www.rjjfreight.co.uk I have been speaking to a guy called Kevin, he is very very helpful
  4. Im a metal fabricator trade qualified Heavy fabrication, 8.5 IELTS 20 years experience, already have a resident visa. What jobs are there going in WA.
  5. Paul, Petition signed and I have sympathy for you as I have a ex with similar traits just not as extreme as yours. I hope you get to see your kids soon, you never know a white pointer might get your ex while she is in OZ Fingers crossed.
  6. Its better if you can pack your own goods and take them to the shippers yard where they then can be loaded into your container, I had a quote of £1250 for this but then I would need to hire a van and take my goods from Sheffield to Portsmouth, still cheeper than a shipping company coming to my house with 2 men then them doing the packing and loading the container outside the house. Not many shipping companies found on a google search will tell you this though, I stumbled upon it by chance when shipping my car.
  7. Paul, do you have personal experience with this, is your ex taking your kids abroad? I would love to take my daughter away to Oz with me and leave her mother to be the one who has her for holidays but with the Uk law as it is I do not really have a say in it. If you are having your kids taken away from you I can imagine what it is like but I cant condone it.
  8. What I have been told after paying the rego you don't need anymore insurance as the rego includes 3rd party insurance, how much the rego costs I am unsure but for a cheep moped you don't need fully comp. Just found this, http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/LBU_P_Fees_201213_Complete.pdf
  9. Me being a new convert to wine, what i have never had I will never miss, so the $100 bottles of wine I will give a miss thanks and stick to the goolies from woollies.
  10. I understand there is a difference Paul, this was our 1st trip to our intended home and we liked what we saw and it is better than our expectations. In the uk I live in Sheffield, there are many places I could get to in an hour but only 1 I would want to, the peak district the rest you can keep. I don't know about you but when I have done a days work I don't want to drive an hour to a different town for any reason, I'd much prefere 10 mins to the local beech or a spot of fishing, maybe a BBQ with the wife and kids, a game of football etc. at weekends the same thing unless it was the once or twice a year trip for a treat when I would drive for a lot more than an hour. I think if you have moved to Australia but you miss then close proximity of other towns etc you have made a massive mistake, me I'm going to be happy with what I've got, and mate they are all free.
  11. Paul, Ive just got back and although we didn't do too much I though most things were a fair price over all. Perth zoo was $22 the Aqarium a similar price, the ferry to penguin island $12. In the ukyou wouldn't be expecting to go on outings when you were bored, if you did then I think you would find them just as expiencieve, I mean Alton towers is about £40 a ticket, prob £100 plus for a family ticket then food and drinks on top and you wouldn't do these things in the uk every weekend just because you have flogged the life out of the free things, that's if there are many free activities to do in the uk.
  12. What I can gather is that the "posh" poms are finding it hard to cope on their salaries as the jobs they have now, the wages don't quite compaire to the uk when the cost of living is taken into account what with their lavish lifestyles, ie big houses, nice cars, aupairs etc. Then you have the trades and general workers who can come out and earn in some cases more than the posh poms if not more than they would in the uk and do not have the expectations which they have ie big house, flash cars, au pairs etc and absolutely love the place. Everyone should note that in Australia, the best things are free, ie sun shine, beeches, walks in great surroundings, I know everyone has to eat and have shelter, but you who usually shop at marks and sparks, get your head out of your arses and join the real Australia, woollies does some great box wine for $13.
  13. Yes it's not cheep, but it's not as bad as many make out, eating out is expiencieve and accommodation is also, food from the supermarkets is not too bad, public transport and petrol are cheeper.
  14. Uk, welder jobs are on average paying £8-9 ph, Perth $40 ph, that's treble. In the uk I was getting paid less than I was 12 years ago, in Perth I can get trebles that.
  15. There are plenty of things in Perth that are compatible With the uk and some that are actually cheaper, also the wage a skilled person can earn in Perth is treble what you can earn in the uk. So all in all Perth in comparison taking into account the wage difference is IMO cheeper than he UK. PS I'm there now
  16. Its cheep as chips, try Singapore prices.
  17. Hi Clair, We arrive at the end of December, we have a holiday let for 1 month then we would be looking for somewhere with a bit of land to rent within 1 hour max of the coast which is big dog friendly (lives outside here) but may need air-con in Oz. Obviously proximity to Perth is a must and especially Perth Uni. Pm me if you have anything in mind.
  18. Wish I'd have seen this when we booked ours. We are doing 2 nights in SP
  19. Get used to needing a mechanic mate. But sorry I can't help you out.
  20. I would buy a nice fishing boat in oz
  21. Ok we arrive in December, wasn't thinking of buying straight away though.
  22. What is in it for the emigrants who might get involved with this program.?
  23. You could always buy a business in OZ, Im not sure wether it has to be of a certain value but it may be worth looking at.
