  1. To confirm my work duties, I had a Statutory Declaration written up by my manager where he had his position in the company aswell as how long he's been with the company and the duties I performed. We then went to a solicitor (lawyer) and my manager signed the declaration in front of the solicitor. This was written on a plain paper (not company letter head). I also submitted a reference from my employer and it only stated my job title, start date and confirming I am still employed. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks all. I'm getting the interest at the moment as I have opened a Oz account. Sounds like for simplicity, I should declare it when I complete the tax return in Oz.
  3. Hi, I'm currently in the UK and have opened up a bank account in Oz where I am receiving interest (small amount). I have my PR and will be moving to Oz soon. The first $18,200 is tax free, I will not be reaching this amount at all in interest. Do I have to pay tax on the interest earned or declare the interest? Also, this account is in joint names. Thanks in advance Mitesh
  4. We got 190 without the use of the agent but with help from people on this forum. You can find all the info you need online and you can be in control as well.
  5. Hi, I've enquired about the above with my kids CTF provider. We'll be looking to move end of this year. I can keep the CTF account open when migrating overseas and can continue to make payments within the limit (my case, I'll keep a UK bank account open where the monthly direct debit will be setup). When the child turns 18, they will send a cheque out to Australia made payable to the children or transfer the money to the kids account in the UK (I'll decide afterwards which route to take). I know someone who's been in Australia for few years and have the above set-up without any issues. Hope the above helps. Regards, Mitesh
  6. Congratulations to you too Charlton78. Ideally, I would like to be in Adelaide around December with the family but I think I may need to be there sooner in order to sort out schools for my kids. I'll be making some calls on Monday to couple of schools and then decide whether I need to there sooner or not. Keep in touch and maybe we could meet up in Adelaide sometime.
  7. Hi all, I got my grant an hour ago. NO CO appointed, direct grant. Feels life can now move on. Lodged 23-March-2014. 190 SS SA. Hang in there all, your turn will come very soon. All the best. Thanks all for your help and advice.
  8. Have fingers\legs\pretty much everything crossed.
  9. Lodged visa on 23rd March 2014 and uploaded docs (medicals done in May) but haven't heard anything. No CO assigned.
  10. Applied and uploaded all docs on 23rd March. Medicals completed end of May. No news of anything.
  11. Hi, I have the same question as above but my wife is a british citizen. Does she need to fill it in? Thanks in advance
  12. I submitted on 23rd March 14, haven't heard anything...no email of any delay or CO. I called again today and was told there are lots of applications to process, hence the delay. I asked about if the quota for 2013-2014 was filled but the person didn't know the answer. Also, asked about the 3 months processing time and was told, that's just an indication and that some applications are processed less than 3 months and others may take longer. Basically, no clear response. Fingers crossed.
