  1. I don't. I just don't believe or dismiss a news story based on it's source. Most people seem to.
  2. Great. Go and google the opposite then and post that. It'll be out there somewhere.
  3. There's not really any point to printing a 'how bad the Daily Mail is' article from a loony-left rag. What does that prove? You've added that as though it's evidence of something! They're all as bad, as biased and as incorrect as each other. Just choose your side of the fence.
  4. I'd trust the Daily Mail before I trusted the BBC. Although, I'd trust neither.
  5. Salary packaging isn't a tax avoidance scheme, that's a ridiculous, uninformed thing to say.
  6. Go for it then. For every person that tells you that you'll be worse off over here, there will be another who will tell you how much better off you'll be. We have much more disposable income over here than we ever did in the UK. And much more to spend it on. But that's us, not anyone else. We started afresh with new jobs and a new mortgage in our late 30s. We spent the money we made from our UK house on travelling. Some might not fancy the thought of starting over, didn't really bother us.
  7. Yeah, I like Freo. I mean, the place could do with a lick of paint and most of the locals look like they've been subjected to a Government-controlled experimental drug program, but it's good for pint and a bite. Sorry gypsy, tried my best to think about something to do with Woodvale but I don't think I've ever been. Am sure it's lovely!
  8. If money is your driver for moving, I wouldn't bother. You only have to look at the ones doing the loudest moaning on here, a lot are people living somewhere that they don't really want to, just to earn extra coin. Forget that, life's too short. Just live your life, if you're happy where you are, stay put.
  9. If you were married to my wife you wouldn't.
  10. I go out fairly regularly and I've never been killed, at least I don't think so. RIP the young fella though. xxx
  11. Just read about you in another thread. Mate, do yourself a favour; make sure your Mrs has no pens in her handbag.
  12. Yeah, I go to a bulk bill GP surgery, have never paid a penny/cent. Also, always get an appointment the same day I ring up. Great service!
  13. Make a scoring card about what features, facilities and amenities are important to you and your family. Target some suburbs before you get here using realestate.com. Think budget as well house characteristics and other options e.g. pool, block size, air con, nearby public transport. Get yourself into a holiday rental for a few weeks when you get here. Get a car, visit your target areas and research e.g, what would your commute be like? Is the area kid friendly? etc. Lots of people rent in areas that they couldn't afford to buy in so as to be in school catchment areas. Bear that in mind.
  14. Some of them can't wait for the recession so that they can log on here and say 'told you so'. They've been building up to it for the 5 or 6 years I've been on here.
  15. Obviously an age thing but for me, most televised sport is lacking something now that the likes of Coleman, Brian Moore, Motson, Pickering, Barry Davies (the best IMO) and others are no longer on. RIP David.

    Here they come.

Official figures - 2001 census - 60,000 Poles in UK 2010 - 515,000 Poles in UK Unofficial figures - 2010 - >1 Million Poles in UK That's some big figures there!
  17. Ivf in Australia is a much better experience than in the UK. The initial costs are expensive but I think you get about 80% back through medicare. You have to be PR or citizen though.
  18. Yeah, you've just convinced me. Ha!
  19. Having a PhD in volcanology is about as cool as it gets. If I was you, I would casually mention it in every single conversation I had.
  20. Monkey Mia is paradise, amazing place. The beaches at Esperance are outstanding as well. Have you been down South? We try to do Mgt River, Augusta, Denmark, Walpole, Pemberton, Albany, Esperance once a year. Didn't manage it this year so will defo be doing it next year.
  21. We have Foxtel, although I can't exactly bring myself to recommend it. It's good for Sport and the docos are pretty much the same as are on Sky. The Entertainment and Movie sections are pretty poor though. The terrestrial TV is like ITV on steroids, on every channel i.e. diabolical. All I watch on free-to-air is the news and some sport e.g. The Ashes are on 9.
  22. LOL. You should work for Nielsen mate, whatever the subject, you've done a survey on it. Brilliant.
