  1. Makes absolutely no odds. Still got loads of spare cash in my pocket. Talk about clutching at straws!
  2. There's no hope for Pot Noodles in Canada.
  3. I kind of agree with that, we were back in Sept and I don't think there's a great deal in it. Once you get used to your wage and where to buy stuff, it isn't massively different. We used to spend about 80 quid a week in Saino's, now we spend about $175 a week in Woollies. Much of a muchness really.
  4. 6 years and counting in my PIO experience. Like a broken clock, they will be right at some point, then I'm sure they'll be back in a hurry to tell you how great they are.
  5. I don't mind what the temp is during the day to be honest. If I'm working, I work in an a/c'd office so that helps obviously. If I'm off, we do something accordingly. Last Saturday was 40-odd, we flitted between a couple of shaded beer gardens and, believe me, it was very tolerable. We have r/c and a pool at home so they're an obvious benefit but I wouldn't say the heat has ever really stopped me doing anything. 30 degrees at night is a different matter, that's a nuisance. Although the a/c and the ceiling fans work well.
  6. Don't get someone to do it for you, they'll find something wrong with it every time and you'll end up paying through the nose. Since I learned to do it myself, I've never had any issues. Of course, if the pump goes chips, I couldn't fix that but regular up-keep is easy. The chemicals and stuff aren't really expensive but bear in mind the pump is on 8 hrs a day in summer and it will need topping up every few days when the sun is out. Lots of water.
  7. Great stuff Laura, well done. Your outlook sounds very similar to ours.
  8. A scumbag who became a martyr for a pretend cause. A common theme.
  9. No offence but you've managed to traverse from the ridiculous to the pointless of late. I know, as do most regulars on here, that's been your MO so, well done there. But really, handshakes all round job well done, pack in now. You're not fooling anyone.
  10. If they're advertised as 'no wait period' you can claim straight away. If they're not, there will likely be a monthly qualifying period, dependent on provider and service. Some advertise 'no wait period' offers throughout the year to attract new business.
  11. Too cold for rioting. Plus, LG aren't releasing their new model tellys until June.
  12. I don't belong to either faction, I'm just able to make that observation.
  13. True. And usually accompanied by the 'I know better than you and you're an idiot' rhetoric.
  14. Nice pics, like them sunsets.
  15. Yeah, I'd agree. Middle income earners and above won't be getting those in about 10-15 years IMO.
  16. They're a bit stricter at the moment. When we arrived, the CBA were trying their best to throw about 850k at us, which I never would have borrowed in a million years. But recently, we were considering down-sizing and spoke to them again, and things seemed much tighter. I find that the online calculators are a decent guide but nothing else. When you actually get into the bank and they take your details, things might be very different.
  17. He probably is a tool. He's about 6 foot 4 though which is 2 foot bigger than me so he's OK in my book.
  18. It's Fugazi. Pure tremendousness.
  19. No offence mate but I don't want to engage in a 30 page thread for us to still be at the same opinions we are now in 5 hours. I'm listening to some Marillion.
  20. The Daily Mail tells the same lies that the BBC does, just at the other end of the spectrum. I don't see many complaint posts on here about the BBC endorsing Labour's Wars, the BBC's pro-Israeli stance, the BBC's over-selling of New Labour policies, the BBC's approach to censorship... I'm not a Daily Mail fan but whenever I read "it's only the Daily Mail" it's a sure fire clue that whoever is discussing it is using a lazy stereotype and probably knows nothing about the discussion point. Not saying that's you Pabs, but it is 99%+ of the posts on here.
