Hello peepsA friend of mine applied for a 176 visa in July last year and has had a few personal issues over the last few months and had not checked the application status as he had not recieved any emails from them. He checked his application status last night and the page said that he had been asked to supply certain docs and to go for his medical on 26 October 2011. All the docs that they were asking for were sent in the initial application. Obviously he can resend the docs and go for his medical ASAP but what is worrying him is that his application says "finalised" on the 25th January 2012.Can somebody please confirm what "finalised" means and how it can be reinsated or appealed against? The Application says that he was sent various emails but he has not recieved any emails from them. We tried calling them tonight and sent an email, but we were a bit too late and my mate is really worried that he may have blown it.Any advice would be appreciated!JOHN

Hi guys Hope you can help me ? We have been in oz for 6 months now and my in laws are making noises about coming over on a cpv. They pass the family test as my wife's brother died 7 years ago and she is the only sibling left. We should be able to show we are settled as my wife us a nurse and I am 6 weeks off from being sworn in as a cop. So am I right in saying that if they came over on a 12 month visa and then applied for the cpv, they could get a bridging visa till it was granted? If they applied for the non cpv ( I know the visa would not be granted for years) but would they be allowed to stay till it was granted? My in laws are 68 and 73. Hope some one can help. John

Thanks for that. My laptop has an HDMI outlet. Cant I just connect to the TV with that as I cant quite work out why you would need a Games console if you have a way of connecting the PC to the TV? JOHN

We will need to be there 2 years before we can apply. They are now talking about doing 6 months here and 6 months there. JOHN

Hi Just a quickie! My in-laws are 68 and 72. Would the Aged Parent (Residence) visa (subclass 804) be the way to go for them as opposed to the CPV? Its a hell of a lot cheaper. My wife is an only child. JOHN
