We have waited for 4 years not out of choice. When we applied we were led to believe that we would have a decision in a year either ways. Lot of people have had to put things on hold and have reset priorities for this. I don't think you were trying to be offensive but there are a lot of people with frayed nerves around due to the waiting.

and you think onshore applicants having the day of their lives?

some of us have to cancel future plans alltogether while waiting for the PR to go through.

I'm not saying that offshore have it better, they are not as well, but at least if you waited long enough and think it's not worthed anymore you can pull the application and try looking other alternatives.

onshore people is in limbo, some employers did not want to employ briding visa A holders, and we constantly feel unsure whether to pull the application or stick with it, because there is always a sense of "just a little patience...a little bit more", but we are duped as well since some of use waited for 3+ years

a mate of mine have to go through of tears and blood for 3 years constantly looking for a temp work every 4 months doing IT projects since nobody want to employ him full-time while holding briding visa A.

onshore or offshore, we have different issues to tackle with, we can debate until the end of time pointing out the other situation is better than the latter

Just to let you know guys, DIAC has introduced PIC 4020 condition for Submitting Fraudulent Documents like 900 hrs experience or IELTS or any other documents which is non genuine..

Like many applicants onshore hasn't worked worked for 900 Hours and showed a non genuine/ fraud documents to DIAC, for their skill assessments.

PIC 4020 means if DIAC found that you have submitted any fraudulent documents in regards to get your PR , then they will issue you PIC 4020, and this will reject your current application and BAN you from applying any application for AUSTRALIA for next three years..!!

The phrase ‘Public Interest Criteria’ or ‘PIC’ refers to specific criteria in the migration legislation that generally relate to health and character requirements that visa applicants need to meet. There are a number of PICs, which are identified by a four digit number that begins with the number 4. Different PICs apply to different types of visas.

the Department is introducing PIC 4020. This PIC, which is also known as the ‘Fraud PIC’ is aimed at reducing the level of fraud present in visa applications by providing additional penalties to those who submit false or misleading information in a visa application.

Where an applicant is found to have provided false or misleading information, the application will be refused and the applicant will be subject to a three year bar which may prevent the grant of a further visa.

The three year bar applies only to visas that are subject to assessment against the Fraud PIC.

The affected visa subclasses are currently limited to General Skilled Migration subclasses and Employer Sub classes.

GMS Subclasses: 175, 176, 475, 476, 485, 487, 495, 496, 880, 881, 882, 883, 885, 886,.

Employer sponsored Subclasses: 119, 121, 457, 856, 857

PIC 4020 will apply to applications for the above listed subclasses, which are lodged on or after 02 April. Applications for these subclasses which have already been lodged but not decided by 02 April will also be considered against this PIC.

Jason I was not trying to belittle Dhawan or differentiate between onshore or offshore, just trying to point out why people are sensitive. I think your reply justifies my post. You are being hyper sensitive about things too

I think to solve this situation best would be if they did that bloody update! :arghh:

Looking at the Cat 4 forum on here, my guess is that come Monday the update from DIAC will be that they are at JUNE 2011 with the cat 4 applications. Therefore I guess we will be hearing some sort of news for Cat 5 application commencement come April/May 2012. Could even be March/April 2012. Good luck to everyone on here waiting... from a 2008 Dinosaur...

CONGRATULATIONS TO BHAWANI..

SOME VERY GOOD NEWS FOR ONSHORE CATEGORY 5 APPLICANTS.

ACCORDING TO THE LATEST UPDATE THEY ARE SAYING THAT THEY HAVE ALLOCATED CASE OFFICERS TO ALL THE APPLICANTS UPTO 1 feb. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY CAN NOT ALLOCATE CASE OFFICERS AFTER THIS DATE. THEY ARE VERY FAST WIT THE PROCESSING OF ONSHORE APPLICANTS.
