  1. Hi Without_Logic (like your username ;o) I too have filed for a 'Refund', not that we will receive all our money back. Nothing up to now. My agent says it will take a while (why am I not surprised?!) I'll let everyone know when I have more news. A very disappointed ex Cat 5'er who had been waiting since December 2008 (Marketing Executive, Fluent in both German and English, sponsored by my sister in Oz, IELTS pass rate = 8 in academic English, BA (Hons) Degree and Btec Diploma qualified- but apparently not good enough for Australia ....) Sigh!
  2. Totally agree with you RR2014. It is a glimmer on the horizon. They may have been made aware how illegal their behaviour is. It goes against all trading standards rules - at least the European ones ;o) Good Luck to us all!!!!
  3. Thank you Arshad for your comforting words! I also believe we will all eventually all be processed. Why this massive delay which has taken years is a complete mystery to me??? My trade is Marketing, and if you look at Marketing jobs here in the UK they are very valued, especially with all the on-line business developments. I did my English Language test and got an overall '8' and this was for academic English!! I'm also fluent in German, both written and spoken. So really.... I'm sure there are others in this group, who have a lot to offer Australia!! Anyway, Happy Australia Day everyone - belated..... (again.....)
  4. Hi All. Happy New Year 2015 to everyone! As most of you, I'm still waiting. Lodged my application for a 475 visa on 16th December 2008!!! Unbelievable - over 6 years ago. Where has the time gone ;o). Still staying positive though and keep skyping my sister and her boyfriend in Oz. Hopefully we will all have a visa by 2016. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  5. Thank you for your kind words. Yes, we certainly have been waiting quite a bit now. Had I known this in the first place I would have bought a new car with the money I have paid DIAC and forgot about the process. A lot can happen in 5 years - I hear some have even had children and changed their family circumstances. Does anyone know anything about Skin Cancer and once it is all clear how you go on with the medicals? Any help here would be highly appreciated. Good Luck to all of us still stuck in this endless queue.
  6. Thank you Arshad. Nice to know people have empathy. Who knows, I might yet get to go to oz. All my surgeon advised is that all the cancer was completely removed and to use a high factor and be sensible in the sun. I have since been on a holiday in Maui, Hawaii and despite wearing factor 50 (!) and being very careful, I still managed to get a tan. Apparently all the Ozzies I've met are much more sensible in the sun anyway. I just hope the fact that I had a Basal Cell Carcinoma will not mean I'll fail my medical (which when I'm going to eventually get a CO, I will still attend and pay for). GAGAN - have you any info on this mate?
  7. Hi Guys. Long-time server here .... Happy to see that lines are moving on. Congratulations to all who have got their case officers/grants. My life has moved on somewhat - nearly 5 years in December. My sister probably thinks we were joking when all that time ago we said we would join her. It is difficult to feel genuine when you say that it is the Australian Government's policy that is to blame (politics - as soon as they get involved it tends to make one or two people very rich and most suffer from it). People here in England are laughing at us, thinking we have been rejected. It is quite a bottomless pit, actually. Anyway, I thought I'd share some news here with all my fellow Poms in Ozzers. In November last year I had been diagnosed with Basal Cell Carcinoma (skin cancer). That was after I had a biopsy done on my face near my nose. I was left with an unsightly scar. Since then I'd been recalled to have some more skin taken away. This time it was a great surgeon, who managed to leave me with a somewhat large, but very well hidden scar. Very recently the Top Surgeon called me for a meeting to say that they had managed to remove all the cancer!!! That feeling was like winning the lottery ten times over (who said money is everyting!). Anyway, after that and having bought a new house here in Good Old Blighty I am in a bit of a quandry.... Do things > happen for a reason?
  8. This is a totally pointless and time-wasting announcement. We all know we can climb the ladder if our occupation is on the list - Trouble is almost all of us in Cat 5 have had their occupations removed from the lists a long time ago. Seems, they will try almost anything to withhold from their obligation to finally process Cat 5. I personally am flabbergasted how DIAC has treated my application since 2008. Because of their 'unfair' attitude it makes me think twice about going to Oz!!!!!!!! I mean, I've been only waiting for over 4 years now....
  9. Guess what everybody - today it's officially 4 Years!! since I applied for my 475 visa (off-shore). Unbelievable. Even if I eventually get the grant on this it is ONLY TEMPORARY. I am honestly LOST FOR WORDS! How can you possibly describe this treatment??? Criminals get better thought of. I'm waiting and seeing what DIAC can possibly dream up to make this situation even worse ... After all, we must be punished for wanting to live in Australia, having applied correctly for the visa by meeting all the criteria, running around getting all the necessary documents and then handing over a very large sum of money. I mean, what else are we to expect???? I'm seriously wondering about the Australian Government and it's perception of fairness! What sort of treatment do they have in store when you are actually living there? Especially if it is only a temporary visa - what if they decide not to grant you PR after you've lived there for 3 years???? Really makes you think! Anyway, unhappy anniversary to myself :sad::sad::sad: Oh, I nearly forgot, and a HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE ON HERE!:xmas8:
  10. Hi Gagan, He still says that 176 and 475 until Dec 2008 would be done my March 2013 - Just for clarification - I'm a Dec 2008 applicant - Question - Will this include my application? The 'until' is a bit ambigious
  11. I applied Dec 2008!!! for a 475 visa. I have NOT been asked for medical nor PCC - What is Going On??? Is processing in 'date order' another one of DIAC's terms for 'let us treat off-shore fs applicants with the utmost contempt we can find and keep feeding them sh...!!' Makes me want to swear out loud!
  12. Sorry to be so sarcastic, but I like the 'Thank you for your patience in this matter' bit.... Good Luck to you anyway!! Fingers crossed for you!
  13. Hi Guys! Just thought I'd bump our thread up a bit and keep it alive on the first page. Nothing much to report though, sorry. It is quiet at the moment, wonder whether DIAC are leaning how to deal with the new EOI? Re-training springs to mind.... Anyway King Khan and a lot of you guys in that category, I strongly believe you are going to hear something positive in a months' time. Fingers crossed eh?!:notworthy:
  14. .... i forgot to add 'we are the people's business', when it comes to DIAC's slogan 'People, our business!' :ssign5:
