  1. no need to worry, at its worst...your children would spend a long period of time in front of computer all day at it's best, minecraft actually encourage people to be creative think of it as the lego for 90's kids
  2. im not following here are we talking about australian news or indian news? given that what happened around the world could be far worse what's happening right now in australia but as we currently lived in australia...where as you mentioned "the most successful multi-cultural country" kinda sad that no one defended the couple from the racial abuse isnt it? bystander mentality is getting dominant lately in australia and again...it happens everywhere in australia recently http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2235817/Bus-passengers-gang-threaten-kill-French-tourists-Australian-bus-dont-speak-English.html
  3. and here i am, thinking want to move away from sydney to melbourne :\
  4. was rejected when i tried to apply a credit card because having a bridging visa apparently is not enough assurance that i would pay while i was a customer for 5+ years banking with them and working full time silly banks...was going to give them money but rejected it
  5. sorry for the cynicism... but seeing today that Cat 5 onshore Family sponsored is not looking good, i viewed this so called "council" exist for the sole purpose of getting cheap labour for business why would chris bowen grant PR to people who already waited 3+ years for a PR and get an industry sanctioned minimum wages, where they could get cheap labour for hopefuls of PR since no one wants to employ them as a full time worker that might have to go home after 4 year no wonder australia still avoiding the GFC, since we got so many supplies of cheap labour yes i know im ranting my frustration he could be misguided...but how would you feel if your life hangs on the balance for 3+ years without certainty?
  6. i still can't figure out how the australian government works we have in one hand, people who willing to go through red tape and apply for a PR but told to wait for years and years just because the visa subclass is literally at the bottom of the barrell, meanwhile working and paying taxes all these time on the other hand, people like OP who is an australian citizen who want to go back to live and work and PAYING TAXES in australia, but got so caught up in red tape that took 2 years for the problem to be solved meanwhile this happens http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/carr-slams-high-court-as-asylum-bill-starts-to-sink-20120628-213sf.html soooo...we pay taxes for them to play on human lives such as ours too?
  7. i heard canada still an easy place to get in i'm still holding it in because i've been waiting for 3+ years and hate moving half a globe if im a fresh graduate, i probably go to canada by now to try my luck there the wage is similar but everything is cheaper in canada compared to australia
  8. didnt the immigration have a limit of 10K australian dollars in a form of money or physical items? but maybe they're a bit lenient in regards to migration travel tho
  9. here's what i gather after living in australia for 10+ years always always assume whatever you signing up for is either a 12/24 months contract unless stated otherwise and always the general rule for myself "if in doubt...ask", if you still doubting things...ask for a digital copy of the contract even if the "no contract" is clearly stated, sometimes they sneakily put a clause that if you want to cancel, you need to notify 30 days prior so if you decide you want to cancel a certain subscription on february after you paid the bills, well you still obliged to pay for the march bill and it doesn't hurt to send an e-mail reminding them that you are still going forward with the cancellation I learn it the hard way that for some reason my cancellation request is not "found" in my account details
  10. that is why ladies and gentlemen...some people should not procreate since their IQs is so low that even basic common sense miss them completely oh about bogan on wheels...experienced it as well once me and my brother just got back from 7 hours overnight flight, both of us in a bad mood and just want to get home as quickly as possible and rest while my brother driving, this bogan basically tail gated our car on the left lane...mind you...we're driving at the left lane, as far as i know people usually overtake using the right lane but no...this particular bogan want to overtake someone from the left lane when my brother finally give way by moving to the right lane...the bogan have the gut wound down the window and shout something that i could not say in this forum i was prepared to smash his kneecaps with a tire iron at that point if he dared to pull over and making a fuss over it
  11. dont use slangs just use simple english words that you think a 5 year old child or a 80 years old fellow would understand what you trying to say dont get fooled by the relaxed situation the tester trying to make you comfortable, it's still a test consider this as a job interview
  12. with fuel pushing 1.50 a litre, as long as the company pays for it, i reckon you ought to be fine a bit worried on how much the company take for the accomodation tho
  13. gotta love people's double standards
  14. different cultures have different way of things to say i remembered a comedian by the name of stephen k amos rants about in australia you could go to a supermarket and get a "coon" cheese
  15. i wonder how many people in this thread would change their views if this particular person got the job you're trying to apply for... anywho... correct me if im wrong, but the OP NEVER mentioned the country this particular person comes from, so from where your assumptions he/she came from a far worse country than australia?
  16. so you're all up for people like the OP state by jumping the queue? I think a lot of people try looking for work sponsor visa, be as it may the person is currently in australia looking for work and have the advantage of actually coming to the office for interviews and what not but the main issue is the intent of the person is straight away looking for jobs, so he did in fact lie when he applied for the tourist visa, it would be different if the first intention is an actual holiday and trying his/her luck for a job interview.
  17. ill just wait till someone comments on this..... and the sh1tstorm would begin in....5.....4......3....2.....
  18. finish your education first then decide later even if there is a good theatre school in perth, you wont perform well since you hate the place
  19. agreed I arrived in australia 10+ years ago, the prices back then somewhat make sense because of the exchange rate but why on earth the prices now pretty much the same when australian dollars exchange rate blasting the US dollars? a lot of the comments in the link blamed the government tax here and there well actually it's the big business who want to get triple profits from australian people yet they cry foul of internet shopping a lot of the retailers blame the shipping cost and storage cost....that is not logical in my mind be honest and admit that 85% of stuff we bought in the last 5 years is made in china then how come it is more expensive to ship products from china to australia (which is closer by the way) than shipping the same item to US of A ? the retailers in US of A incur the same shipping cost and storage cost
