Hey Michelle2014,

Yes they may be a lot of EOI applications but please remember that family sponsored

applications are no longer being accepted for permanent residency i.e. these EOIs have to be

independent, state sponsored or employer sponsored.

We no longer have Priority 1 and Priority 2 (they are missing from the table because everyone

prior to SkillSelect has been allocated a case officer and the visa subclass does not exist

any more. ....

Thank you for your kind response. I really like the positive

attitude here.

I hope that "once the pre SkillSelect backlog of Priority 3 and 4 applicants are finished they

will start with offshore P5. " But we all know that there is actually fewer P3-4 left. In this

forum and in freeoz, we saw P3-4 applicants applying in June 2012 got their visas. Even if all

these applicants are finished, there will be EOI applicants to be processed before G5. I don't

mean to cause a panic. What i want to say is that there is still uncertainty about for 175 G5

offshore independent since there are these uncertain factor like when the remaining P3-4 will

be completed and like the number of EOI applicants. And i think 176 FS's situation is even

worse. Sigh.....Hope they can keep their word.

One positive thing I could think of is that DIAC has a quota against

each occupation level. So realistically if they can't fill the quota from Skill Select

applicants they should be digging into G5 applications to complete their quota

allocations..There are quite a few too many variables now. For example in my case I know for

sure there wouldn't be too many Community Welfare Worker applications coming into the system

as its not in SOL anymore and only few states have got it in their SMP that too with strict

level of 7 IELTS and work requirements. ....

hahahaha, i agree. So it is just uncertain. what i can say is

only that we still have chance, hehe.

PS. i prefer to be positive than negative, at least i am happy not crazy now. let's hope for

the best together.

Hi xenos1987 ,i think we always have Priority 1 2 3 over us cause they lodge by EOI system but

do not need to wait a long time for the selection of EOI by the visa subclass 190.

Hi Ricky D ,you are right , maybe they would fill the quota, now the question is ,why so many occupations deleted form SOL but appears on quoda list? As i heared , even there are occupations not onSOL not onCSOL but on quoda list. i cant finger it out.

Hi Xiaolan ,i dont know why u are happy not crazy but im happy not crazy too when i know u are happy not crazy...you know. ;-)

Hi Vipvia...my understanding is that some states/territories still have room for providing a off-list nomination and thats why all these trades - Cooks, Hairdressers etc are still there in the quota. Moreoever Govt might have been aware of this fact for sure that there are so many people waiting in Group 5 with occupations outside the Skills List. So they can always pick and choose applicants from there if they can't fill the quota through ENS or SMP.

We can't do nothing but wait till next 2-3 months and things are gonna get clearer.

Hi khan, quick question , if some one has already got TR does immigration also peform external checks before grant for PR or the people who have only applied for PR only are getting checked. Is it not the case that when someone gets TR they already have external checks done. Does it makes any sense. Just thinking too much now a days.

Emm,that is right Ricky D, but what about those applicants who lodged 2 or 3years before that the documents (including age and IELTS)were all out of date that can not meet the requirements of SMP any more? Just like me ,maybe it is easy for me to pass IELTS 7777 after 50years. Would they always need such an old man like me at that time? ;-)

What for the life of me I cannot understand is this = Why are FS skilled applicants being bashed about like this? Yes, we are Family sponsored, i.e. not by the state, BUT we all have to pass the same set of rules and meet all the same requirements. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE??? I might be a bit dim here, but my sister will have to provide for me for the first two years, should I hit hard times. So Australia really has nothing to loose. ALSO visa 475 is only TEMPORARY!!!! which means I will have to find a job and work to adhere to the terms of this visa and then re-apply again, plus paying some more money in order to convert this visa into a PR. If I don't do that, the best way to describe this visa is a 3 year holiday visa, where you have to provide for yourself! Honestly, who is in charge of this Stinking Mess???? Hiding behind a desk somewhere?? I was brought up knowing right from wrong - but to subject Family sponsored applicants to his horrendous ordeal is plainly WRONG - Wake up DIAC and think on. It would actually serve them right, if very little people applied under EOI - and I honestly believe there will NOT be as many applicants as in the past!!!:skeptical:

Exactly right. What i think is we are already here from long time. And why should we apply for new application. If DIAC think bit deeply,FS886 are already here.It wont make big diffrence as all of them working as they have do to survive not like others living on centrelink.I am sure it will not be many application under skill select as it is getting hard to get pass marks. So dont worry they will come up to our application too.

It doesn't make any difference my friend. They do external/internal checks for both TR and PR..For PR applicants who had TR do have an edge but they still conduct checks.

Just wondering mate if you have job in your own field why you don't adapt other option like employer sponsor instead of hanging in 886 FS.

I am writing to you concerning your General Skilled Migration (GSM) <subclass> application lodged on <Lodgedate>.

The Government recently announced 190,000 places for the 2012-13 migration program year. This includes 129,250 places for the Skilled Migration Program including Skilled Independent, Employer Sponsored, State and Territory Sponsored, and Skilled Australian Sponsored (Family Sponsored) applicants.

See: http://www.immi.gov.au/media/fact-sheets/20planning.htm

The Minister for Immigration and Citizenship has set new priority processing arrangements for skilled migration applications, which took effect from 1 July 2012. Information about the priority processing groups and the order of processing applications is available on the departmental website.

See: Priority processing groups and order of processing applications.

As at 1 July 2012, there were approximately 16,350 Skilled Independent cases representing approximately 27,600 applicants in Priority Group 5 awaiting allocation. As such, many Priority Group 5 applicants still face a considerable wait until their application is allocated to a case officer for processing.

You can follow the progress of GSM applications being allocated to case officers on the departmental website:

See: www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/estimated-allocation-times.htm

As you have not been nominated by a state or territory government, and your nominated occupation is not on the SOL in effect from 1 July 2012, your application is in priority group 5 for the purposes of priority processing arrangements

As your GSM visa application was lodged before the legislative changes made on 1 July 2010, you are eligible to seek a nomination from any state or territory government.

When seeking a nomination from a state or territory government agency you should consider whether your nominated occupation is listed on the current State Migration Plan (SMP) for your intended state or territory.

State Migration Plans commenced for all states and territories in late 2010 and early 2011, and list which occupations state and territory governments can nominate applicants under. States and territories have a limited capacity to submit nominations for occupations not listed on their State Migration Plan. These provisions allow states further flexibility in providing nominations which may be valuable in meeting shortages in very specialised occupations.

It is important to note that it is entirely at the discretion of the state or territory government agencies to nominate applicants and to submit nominations of their choosing to the department. Once a nomination of their choosing is received by the department, it will be considered and the nominating agency will be informed of the decision.

If you are able to obtain a state or territory nomination, and meet the other eligibility requirements, you should email a completed Form 1022 to gsm.documents@immi.gov.au notifying GSM of a change to your visa application category. Your visa application category will change once your nomination has been submitted to the department by the state or territory government and approved.

You may also wish to consider alternate visa options including:

- considering your eligibility for an employer sponsored visa, which would require a new visa application

- submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) for another skilled migration visa through SkillSelect

Information about SkillSelect can be found on the departmental website.

See: www.skillselect.gov.au

You can withdraw your application at any stage during processing if you no longer want to be considered for the grant of this visa. Information on how to withdraw an application, along with other information for applicants who have already lodged a GSM application, is available on the departmental website. Applicants who do not wish to continue their application and withdraw for this reason, are not eligible for a refund of the visa application charge.

See: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/lodged-information.htm

Further information on the processing of priority group 5 applications is available on the departmental website:

See: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/gsm-priority5-processing.htm

I reckon immigration will increase processing of category 5 may be till November.Reason behind that will be training of staff to get familiar with new rules and implement them later. In 2013 cat 5 process might slow down like before as there will be more applicants from higher priorities.I rang immigration yesterday regarding my application .i had been told that my application is in pre assessment pile and will be allocated to CO soon.I don't know how soon though, immigration "soon" can be upto 3 months.lol...let's see

hi kk finally got the decision from immi but kk how do you know the process is on preassesment mate when you check the document checklist and wat do you think they will process 2010 do you think i will have the chance to get it this year dude cheers mate
