Hi xenos1987 ,i think we always have Priority 1 2 3 over us cause they lodge by EOI system but

do not need to wait a long time for the selection of EOI by the visa subclass 190.

Hi Ricky D ,you are right , maybe they would fill the quota, now the question is ,why so many occupations deleted form SOL but appears on quoda list? As i heared , even there are occupations not onSOL not onCSOL but on quoda list. i cant finger it out.

Hi Xiaolan ,i dont know why u are happy not crazy but im happy not crazy too when i know u are happy not crazy...you know. ;-)

must be viac,haha

laughing is always better than crying, not to mention crazy

quick question:

Is the CSOL is the new SOL?

if my occupation is in the CSOL - is it change something?

thx

If u r on CSOL, potentially u could apply for higher Priority State Sponsorships, Just check out which State offers your Code,

I think this is mentioned in some of those DIAC bulk emails as well

Guys please note that you can change your visa subclass from 886 to 885 by simply filling out the form 1022 form provided you had the 120 points as at day of your application lodgement to meet the 120 pass mark for independent GSM category.

I have just got off the phone with DIAC and confirmed this.

I know a few people who inspite of being able to achieve 120 marks on their own decided to go along the FS path. So now they can revert back to 885 and get quicker processing.

Wow, anyone I've spoken to has not mentioned this, including people at DIAC. That's frustrating when different people tell you different things. Does anyone have a link to the old points test? I can only find the rules for the new points test on the DIAC website.

Hi guys

I am in the same situation just difference is I am married. These DIAC and minister dont understand the pain we are going through.I always talk about this to all my neighbors and colleague regarding this problem. Atleast they know what this ***DIAC doing on the name of the fair go.Where is the fair go gone when people like us and many more without their partners and kids have to stay separated from their family just because of this lengthy and unrealistic priority processing. If they think we are burden on them they are absulately f********head. We are hear from more than five years.Paying tax already giving our contribution to economy. If they think giving us visa will lead the country to higher unemployment rate they must be dreaming. We are already employed.Even FS from off shore not going to be a problem as their family going to look after them as they have give assurance. And first two year centrelink not providing any assistant unless have a children. This kind of tendency reduce of application for PR and student visa.Anyway I am going to wait another 6 month and say good bye to Aus.

Very true (possibly minus the swearing :) ) I'm wishing you all the best, saras.

Guys, if you are a tad bit wise, don’t spend any more money on DIAC if you have a valid (LEGAL) application/meet all requirements. What they are doing is trying to con people into spending money by saying “We have moved you to the lowest priority, but, hey, if you are foolish and narrow-minded, give us more money and we will reconsider. Or “Hey, withdraw this application and put in another, we can’t refund you, sorry, but this and that.” What tells you they will not change the rules again when you put in that new application? Your big amount goes to waste (the amount you spent in 2008, 2009 or 2010 goes to take care of illegal boat people). DIAC is now known for playing with people’s lives because there has been a massive, worrying reduction of migration to Australia (trust me on this one – Someone I know did this research for them).

I don’t think any 885 or 886 applicant should spend any more money. If they are allowing you to change from 886 AT NO COST, go ahead. Maybe. Otherwise please take your money elsewhere. This is a money game being played. No one in their right mind spends close to 5 grand in total on an application that is likely to be invalid/refused. All permanent resident applications usually carry a lot of work and research before it is put in. That is why you see people living here for about 5 years or more BEFORE applying. People are not stupid to just put in applications for the sake of it.

Totally agree..well I have confirmed it twice from DIAC that no extra cost involved from changing to 886-885 or vice versa. But this exception rule is only valid for applications lodged before 1st July 2010.

Hey Ricky D,

To add to that, they need to have had the 120 points at the date of lodgement. For instance if someone has applied for family sponsored with 110 points. They may have work experience now giving them an extra 10 points but they cannot change because they did not have the work experience at the time of lodgement.

Cheers!

Hey!!

Can someone on this forum give us a few answers. My husbands lodged his application for his pcc in mumbai on the 7th of June 2012 and he still has not received it. The police verification is done and his application is stuck at sp office, mumbai. We went to the sp office as well and they said that they have about a 1000 applications before his to process and they refuse to do his on priority. Is there anybody who knows how long it takes through passport seva for his application. Any advice ould be highly appreciated.

Hi Hery....DIAC has the capacity to change the quota for places within the financial year.. Last year the quota was 4100 but got adjusted to 12500..very good chances that this would happen this year as well..so hypothetically lets say this year we have 12,500 quota for FS...current unallocated FS applications (onshore and offshore) are 15500 represnting 30,000 applications...out of this atleast 5000 would be onshore (purely my guess)..so good chances that DIAC can atleast finish off all the onshore (independendent and FS) yhis financial year and then next year start with offshore Grp 5

Thanks Ricky, for your quick reply. 30,000 is a big number... I hope at least all 886 FS 2009 applications are processed this financial year. Fingers crossed.

I assume, you still have a active CO even announced new priority prosessing direction.

I am 475-SS applicant too. The mail was about not accepting Form1100 (old one of 09) by DIAC and it has resolved by issuing new one by State.

Regarding DIAC updates on 4th July, I was shocked to see *Allocation not commenced*" from "All application allocated" but after clicking links and reading more & more I found (*) this "Allocation not commenced" represents those (475-SS) who's Form1100 has not been received or not been accepted by DIAC. And until sorted this out these applicants (475-SS) will be in lower priority as Family Sponsored.

Thanks Aituhin. Yes I have a SA SS but my occupation was not listed on their SMP. I had a CO assigned on May 19th 2012 but I could not submit all requested documents by June 16th deadline because of the overseas police clearence that took a month to be processed. My concern is that with the new rules effective on July 1st, my application is put on limbo eventhough all documents are listed in the system as "met" (last document was submitted on July 2nd and changed to met on July 3rd by the CO). The CO might be doing internal/external checks but I've seen that most applicants (from LRC) get the approval very soon after submission of all documents. Are you a state sponsored applicant as well? I did not receive any e-mail on June 15th and my agent did not mention anything about it. What was it about?

:skeptical:

From the update on DIAC's website regarding priority processing I could not find clear information regarding applications from SS group 5 cases which applications had not been finalized as of July 1st. Does anyone have any idea about this?

Hi Guys,

I received an email from DIAC earlier today AGAIN!!! (This time it displayed my details accurately!!! Thankfully, they got their mail merge right!!!). I applied for 885 on 31st Jan 2010 as a Marketing Specialist, IELTS:8.5.

I am unable to understand the reason behind DIAC sending this mass mailer out. From my understanding of the content, my position is not any different from what it was ever since they changed the rules, or for that matter renamed Priority 4 to Priority 5. What action are they trying to evoke from us through the email???

From my understanding... essentially, what they are trying to say is that if you want an Australian PR then,

a) Invest in another application (Employer Sponsored, State Sponsored or EOI) and forget about your financial investment in your current application! Anyway even if we take that route, how do you assure us that you will actually live upto to your word this time and not change the rules again and we do not end up in another long pool of applicants!

Or,

b) Withdraw your application and forget about the time, money and hopes you have invested in the years that you have waited and worked towards fulfilling the criteria for your application.

I am appalled at DIAC and the Government's insensitive attitude towards Priority 5 applicants. Its bad enough that they have categorized as the unwanted people... I understand that they don't require our skills right now. However, at one point of time they did, and on the basis of those requirements we planned our futures (Migration is not a spontaneous decision and requires a lot of planning). Nevertheless, they changed their minds... putting our futures in limbo (we are unable to get good jobs or loans because no one wants to invest in someone whose future is uncertain in the country). And now they send us an email encouraging us to look at alternative options or rethink our future because they have not been able to manage their departmental inefficiencies!!!

It is frustrating enough to deal with the agony of waiting for a CO allocation, for the last two and a half years. Receiving emails like this make this journey even more painful. Had I known at the time of my application that the wait period for my case to be processed would be indefinite, I would have reconsidered my decision!

It sure does. I don't know why they haven't thought of the idea before. Give the existing applicants the opportunity to change to 885 if they have work experience now. Lots of RED TAPE as usual

I can just hope that some applicants move over to SS and Independent category from 886 atleast freeing up some capacity there for FS applicants. Feel like doing something soooo bad to these DIAC officials I swear. Few more months and a massive protest is going to erupt outside DIAC office.

If this is possible, I think that would be an amazing chance for me. I almost can't believe it's true. So all I have to do is fill in the form 1022 (change in circumstances) and post it to the processing centre? I'm sorry for asking so many questions but I just want to be absolutely sure. I'm just even more unsure because I spoke to someone from DIAC today and they didn't tell me this was possible.

We weren't the unwanted peoples. Those needed skills we have seen during our applications are about same as current needed skills, just in different names and ANZSCO code for now. Since their new ANZSCO code are mapping / referring back to our previous ASCO code, I don't understand why we were pushed to Cat5 while with new ANZSCO code applicants went above us. Same nomination, same skill set yet different in priority , just because they paid more than us for their new applications? We are like their bad debts, no return and depreciate every year. Agreed with you saying that they want us to reinvest more by doing all the skill assessment again and apply new application with new rates.

Completely agree, I also received the second email from DIAC, at first I thought it was good news but on reflection I don't think it is, I considered applying for state sponsorship but think I would need to retake the IELTS test and then pay the $300 to apply for sponsorship, and even then I'm not sure it's worth it, what if they move the goalposts again. I think the very least DIAC should do is give people the option to cancel and get a refund, but no doubt they have already spent our money 16,500 applications at $2100 is nearly $35 MILLION! Why on earth would they want to give that back
