Thanks missA

i haven’t knocked their door yet.

Did you tried contacting them or have they contacted you themselves?

whats your place of application?

I lodged off shore from South Africa. Im also using an agent. I have emailed them twice. The first time i got a generic response the second time i did get a response to say they had requested info from my agent but due to some email glitch we didnt get that request so im so happy i did email. They were reluctant to give me further info and said i should liase with my agent. Also there was a about a two month break between emails since i dont like to worry them unnecessarily.

Hi,

I have a confusion while filling Form 80, if someone can please help out. Qs.24 asks for if we are applying for a temporary visa? I assume answer would be yes as the first visa we will get is a temporary one and that will lead to the permanent one. Second part asks for the flight details, departure date which of course I don't have any. How should I answer this question? Please let me know. Thanks ?

You are actually applying for PR, the 100, they just grant a provisional visa, the 309 if you do not yet qualify for the permanent 100

Select No in that question. You are indeed applying for a permanent visa. The rest of the questions about flight details etc are defunct if you select No in Q24.

It is because of the nature of the question. Chances are they will make more mistakes and probably not ask the question. This forum is not for everyone. Paying a lawyer is an investment and for some people this is the best option. Agree with your comment for someone who know what they are dealing with to some extent. if someone cannot comprehend the visa they are applying - lawyer is the best option to help and guide them. A coin has 2 sides Nemesis and we should try and see the other as well. This brings me to a question I asked you before if you can please answer for me would be very helpful. When were you advised of 18 - 24 months waiting time for appeal process for 309 refusal? was it in 2018? 2017? or earlier? Thanks again

Never hire a lawyer to handle immigration. Use a registered migration agent. they are specialists. There is no need for a migration agent to reside in the country where you live, hire one of the ones who frequent these forums - that way you know they are reputable.

Thanks Marisa - This is what I meant as well. Thanks for correcting.

You need a MARA registered migration agent, not a lawyer........

Moji, I don't know any agents personally in Melbourne but look at some agents' reviews and call them up. Most MARA registered agents are pretty good as they have to maintain a certain level of service to keep their standing and licence to operate.

Better be quick as I think you're running out of time for the appeal.

Hi All,

Today we have received first email from AHC after lodgement. The email contains the document checklist. The case officer has not asked for any specific documents, instead case officer has asked us to check if any document from checklist is missing and provide that within in 14 days. We have already provided most of the documents.

I have a couple of questions regarding checklist.

  • They have asked for 2 Form 888 from Aus Citizens/Residents and 2 statutory declarations from Pakistani declarants. We have already provided 2  From 888 from pakistani declarants as statutory declaration, as we don't have any aus friends who know both applicant and sponsor. I (sponsor) have some aus friends but they only know me not my wife (applicant). So how can I provide 2 Form 888 from Aus declarants?
  • For all who have been granted visa, how much time it took for visa grant after you received such email from AHC?

=====================================

Timeline :

DOL: Sep 17, 2017

CO Assigned and sent doc checklist: May 17, 2018

DOI: <Waiting ....>

======================================

Did you hear anything from them since then. I also got the same email two weeks back and its been quite since. I had all my documents ready uploaded in Oct 2017 including medical, PID,  police check etc.

DOL: 05/10/2017

CO : 21/05/2018

DOI : wiating

Same here, no further communication after the email.

Even if you had uploaded all doc at the time of lodgement, there are certain doc which are required in current state for example communication details while being away, recent salary slips of sponsor, etc

Documents which are required in current state are mentioned in the checklist

Thanks mate, I had my application updated with most recent phone record, pictures and payslips just few days before getting their email. Had to upload a Notice of assesment from ATO, and also uploaded new valid police check as my first one was expired, was valid for only 6 months.

I guess next contact from immi would be after Ramadan/Eid now.

How do you know you got a CO assigned? Did your application status change? Is it "further assessment" now?

You can ask couple of your Friends or cousins who attended you wedding and knew about the relationship, they can provide you declaration.

Write your relationship statement as affidavit, print it on stamp paper, get it signed by Notary public.

- Relationship Statement: write a statement in a normal Word file and take it in a USB stick to a Notary Public in your local kachehri. Ask them to print it as an affidavit on a Stamp Paper and "notarise it".

- Statements from friends: Similar to above. Ask them to write a statement in the support of your relationship (see Form 888 for the 2 questions they need to answer). Get these statements printed as Affidavits on a Stamp paper and get them signed by an Oath Commissioner/Notary Public from kachehri. In my case, they specifically asked for an Oath Commissioner so that's who I got them signed from.
