  5. Victorian borders are open to all states. Victoria is not stopping interstate travel to Victoria. Only international arrivals cannot arrive in Victoria - so planes go to WA or SA or QLD. After you complete your quarantine in WA or any other state (apart from Vic), you can drive to victoria. Once in Victoria you then cannot travel anywhere unless you acquire permit from the state you want to travel to. Hope this makes sense
  6. Hi All Finally after almost 3 years my application at the AAT (appeals admin tribunal) has been remitted back to the DHA in islamabad for processing. I want to know if someone recently had a similar situation and how much time did Islamabad immigration took to finalise the case? I am only talking about cases which have come from MRT or AAT to the DHA islamabad. Thanks for your help
  7. Well first of all get an immigration lawyer on your case asap. Carina ford in Melbourne are really good. Immigration can be very unreasonable and they can refuse a visa. It is up to you to prove your relationship. Immigration lawyers know exactly how to handle. Immigration refused my partner visa and I am waiting for AAT hearing since Aug 2017. Such are the wait times. Do not go for a cheap migration consultant. It is a costly visa and now that immigration have received adverse information they will believe it. I would advise to keep a low social media profile as someone in your circle of so called friends is not happy with your relationship.
  8. Does anyone know what are the average times these days for 309 visa? any information from other facebook groups?
  9. Visit visa rejection reason is......partner will not return back to Pakistan. This is the standard reply. I am going to lodge a new application as I cannot be bothered waiting endlessly for a review.
  10. I lodged in Melbourne on Aug 30 2017. Did you apply for special consideration? I wonder why such a long time for me?
  11. This is Immigration at its worst behavior. They have no regard for people and no one should be treated like this. If you want to get a visit visa this is how you can get it. Apply for visa and wait until they refuse it. Appeal the decision with AAT (only for sponsored visitor visa). Current wait times is 6 months for a hearing with AAT. If you are a genuine couple then AAT will revoke immigration's refusal and grant the visa. This is how you can get it. The visa you will get will be for 3 months maximum unless you apply for 1 year visa and then you might get for 6 months. It is worth for 6 months because the costs associated with bringing your wife and living in Australia is ~ 10K including renting a house and buying furniture and return airfares. It might be worth just you visiting back. I am in waiting with AAT for a partner refusal since Aug 2017. 2.5 years since we married and still not together. This immigration department is the worst in the world without a doubt.
  12. There is no care taker government in Australia. the current Govt continues until Election. Care taker government happens in Pakistan - not here. Immigration is slow at the moment as there are too many people. Trains are full, hospitals are full, roads are full.
  13. You have mentioned engagement for 8 months and now getting married. This is really good for your application to prove you have not rushed into the second marriage and have taken sometime before coming to this conclusion. Also you previous application will not affect you - just clear your mind. If the case officer asks about the previous marriage and visa just tell what happened and that it did not work out so I cancelled the sponsorship. Do not worry about it - just forget it and move on. Second application will be the same as immi has not changed much. Just follow the check list and you should be fine. If you want to consult a lawyer only - I would recommend only to discuss what other ways you can bring your wife over without logding partner visa. Maybe there is a way to lodge onshore rather than offshore. Just check this with the lawyer.
  14. Hi Saleemk you should be fine. Because you withdrew your sponsorship application before the 309 was granted, you should not have any issues. Partner visa takes time and there is nothing we can do about it. Just sit this one out my friend. I have been married now for almost 2 years - 3 visit visa refusals. I know how to get the visa now.....but it is not worth the $$$ for a 3 or a 2 month visit visa. Anyways......if your visa was granted to the first wife then you would be required to wait 5 years before sponsoring another partner. So you are fine
  15. What reason you gave to get Priority processing? I am waiting since september 2017 and no hearing. Can you please help?
  16. I have just checked the department's website and they are hiring visa processing officers for 1 year across Australia. There are easily hundreds of jobs that have been advertised and now closed. My friend has also applied and he is progressing in the application. My understanding is that these times will come down in the next 3 months down to 18 months or less inshallah. No need to stress at this point in time.
  17. It is because of the nature of the question. Chances are they will make more mistakes and probably not ask the question. This forum is not for everyone. Paying a lawyer is an investment and for some people this is the best option. Agree with your comment for someone who know what they are dealing with to some extent. if someone cannot comprehend the visa they are applying - lawyer is the best option to help and guide them. A coin has 2 sides Nemesis and we should try and see the other as well. This brings me to a question I asked you before if you can please answer for me would be very helpful. When were you advised of 18 - 24 months waiting time for appeal process for 309 refusal? was it in 2018? 2017? or earlier? Thanks again
  18. Hi Nemesis Grateful if you can please advise on when did you seek this advice? was it 2017 or 2016? Thanks again. It will help me understand how much more time I have to wait. I am kind of in a rock and a hard situation where if I apply a new application it will take 10 months. With my appeal I have already waited for 9 months.....so really it is a matter of 7k worth spending on new application or not
  19. someone can be illogical with a brain. These people have no brains mate - they are ostrich. anyways I think in this case you can say what it is and it should be fine. Not a big deal really
  20. Your only way out of this is to withdraw the application. If the visa is granted before you withdraw your sponsorship then 5 year limitation will apply. It does not matter whether your wife travels to Australia or not. You can only sponsor 1 partner in 5 years unless you have special circumstances and you can prove your life will be very difficult if you would have to move back home for 5 years. no medical reports will help here either - Immigration is abusing this clause to the maximum. If all of your family is in Australia - as in your parents and siblings then you have a chance at sponsoring another partner within 5 years. I will stop here and let you respond. Please read this information in partner booklet on immi website
