Hi guys,

Not sure this thread is active or not. I am currently applying for my Skills Assessment as Management Consultant and need help as i am unable to find sufficient material online and agents i contacted are not much aware of specifics related to Management Consultancy.

Education: Bachelors in Actuarial Sciences and Risk Management(Overseas) - Masters in Banking and Finance(Australian)

My core courses revolve around Risk Management - Finance - Financial Management - Economics/Econometrics - Statistics

Currently Working as Commercial Analyst (Not in Big 4) - My roles align greatly with that of Management Consultant. This is an internal role. Our department is Business Solutions Team and works independently providing solutions for internal and external clients.

Can anyone advise if its worth going for Management Consultant
Can provide additional details if required

Assuming you have been in detail through the Vetassess criteria, 202111 Information Sheet - Management Consultant.pdf (vetassess.com.au) and your role aligns, you need to be sure that your degrees meet the criteria of Highly relevant field of study, and that you have the required experience.  I would be ringing a few more agents tbh, or perhaps taking advantage of the VetAssess Skills Assessment Support Consultation Service for Applicants | VETASSESS

It will depend very much on the specifics of the role. Generally, Management Consultant is considered as an external client focussed role, although they can make exceptions. I would seek a specialist consultation with a registered migration agent or directly with VETASSESS as suggested above.

Management consultant is one of the more difficult Vetassess categories to satisfy.

They almost always (as Paul Suggested) expect a management consultant to be working with external clients.

Similarly with no actual consulting experience you will struggle to make the proof points needed

There are loads of other similar anzsco codes that would probably be a better fit.

I also find that the biggest test of if someone is actual a management consultant or not is if they are handling their application without help from an agent.

Given an MC is an expert for hire if they can't see the benefits in getting an expert involved they probably aren't very successful as a consultant either

My son’s visa was for Management Consultant, had a good agent George Lombard, older posters will remember his reputation

What visa are you applying for? If it is an independent PR vis then picking the best occupation both in fit and ease of assessment is the key. Once you have the visa you can do whatever job you want. Don’t get hung up on status or titles it may well be easier to go for an executive role.

I can share my RnR in pvt if it helps anyone assessing preliminarily. Furthermore if you can point me towards an agent who has successfully dealt MC clients. (I have left an appointment request with George Lombard)
