Applied online in August 2018, still awaiting anything further than the initial receipt of application. Travel rights expired on my Permanent Resident Visa over 8 months ago so last week I applied for a RRV (Returning Residents Visa) so I can travel overseas. I completed the process online and had to enter quite a lot of the details I'd been asked for as part of my citizenship application. Wouldn't you expect that those details should be automatically filled from the current citizenship application?! Put in my payment details and in less that a minute I got the RRV granted online and email notification too! Shame it isn't so easy for the citizenship application and that they seem to have to double dip to let people continue with their lives whilst being on hold for up to 22 months! the details can't be copied across as an RRV is totally separate from citizenship and so for privacy and security reasons you have to enter the details for each application. Same reason they cannot just oouse your PR application details for your citizenship. Edited January 12, 2019 by Nemesis

Fact is, citizenship, like a visa, is a privilege not a right. If you want it, you have to wait for it. You can state, it is a privilege, not a right, However! when people submit an application, they do so with a firm belief that the wait periods are accurate, it is not acceptable if a person lodges an application with a 11 month time scale then after 11 months it has increased to 22 months. every month it is increasing, you wouldn't see a bank saying it is ok, delay your repayments every month. JoannaAch
Both my and my husband applied on 3 Feb 2018 from Sydney. I got a test invite already, but nothing for him so far... It’s a pity as it would be easier to do it together with arranging day care drop off/ pick up. Especially that we need to travel all the way to Parramatta for the test. my timeline: applied: 3 Feb 2018 test invite: 4 Jan 2019 test: 31 Jan 2019 Sydney Parramatta office (requested CBD as Parramatta is quite far away)

Van tim
Hi there , A question here , do we really need to submit birth certificate? Our original birth certs lost including my 10 year old daughter's but we do have certified ( not certified by Naati) which we used for PR applications. That's the only concern I am worrying now . You will need to submit birth certificates or whatever your country uses as proof of birth and birth parents. If the ones you have worked for PR they should be fine for citizenship

But that's a good idea if he gets it before my test, I will reschedule both of us for a later date. After 7 months of start your TB pills, doctor will compare your x rays if all good he will send report to Govt and your visa application will get approval. It is better if you explain when you started your treatment. If anybody don,t have medicare still TB treatment is free for everyone. So calculate 7 to 8 months after your treatment started, if you contact immigration office too frequent then they will ask more clarification from doctor as well as from you. I hope it will help you Hi Adelaider, How are you Mate ?? Good News my TB treatment has been completed on 11th Jan. However, still waiting for PR. I had body scan last week but haven't heard anything form my doctor yet, will have follow-up with doctor next month. Should I call Immi. now and ask for my application status or wait until next month to see a doctor first. Normally, how much time will immi. take to process application after body scan? Do you know the process, who will inform Immigration that treatment has been completed? Please advise.
imthedave
Hi all I'm finally getting closer to being able to apply for citizenship! Phoned immigration and they checked my details and said we could all apply on 16th February Couple of questions though if anyone can help. It's myself, wife and (step) daughter applying. Daughter is 14 so needs to be included on one of our applications. I looked at the immi page and applying online seems pretty straight forward. 1. I can see my wife has to apply in her own right however can I apply using my immi account? 2. Will my own application include her at some point on the documents and hers include mine on her documents? In other words, so they link together 3. Who should include our daughter? My wife (her natural mum), me (as the original primary PR holder) or both? 4. Can i START the applications now on line to get ahead of the game however not click submit until 16th February? Basic question but I'm assuming the lodgement date is when you lodge - not when you start the application! 5. All the above taken into account, is it better to apply via the immi account or via paper application? I see not everyones status updates. Is this because paper ones are done manually? Applying in regional Victoria. I'm taking some advice I got before on this forum and not using an agent. As has been said, Citizenship isn't migration. I think we should be able to manage this ourselves. Thanks a lot

In relation to the application, you can start to pre fill it and send once you reach the qualifying date .. in relation to the PR it is no longer relevant ... when you apply ensure you link your applications. there will be a tick box somewhere. My application was done via the account I used all of her details etc ... you will see on the form the tick box ... Obviously your daughter will not need to attend the interview do the test etc being under 16 ..... I had to do mine via paper then uploaded it to the immi account so the JP signed my ID ... I think ( and hopefully will be corrected or verified) you just up load colour id to the account now.
