AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP TIMELINES 2018-2019

congrats to you. However, there are many people applied before you and completed citizenship before you and they are still waiting on "Received" status (including me). On one side congrats for you but on the other side its frustrating how Immi allocates applications without disclosing more unambiguous criteria to the public. -

r u so not ready for a test before you move? I think your application is tied to the local council you chose, so as soon as you move you will need to inform immi and change the processing centre, interview as well the ceremony being held. why dont you just call the department asap? you probably get the most accurate answer from them. -

on the email you will find the reschedule link. everything DIY, you can even change it to the next day as soon as they have available time slot. I received my email they arranged my interview in a month time and i changed it to within just 2 days. no point wasting extra one month for nothing. good luck to you. -

hi everyone I just finished my interview today. 100% marks on my computer test. the officer at the counter was pretty nice. i applied my citizenship in November 2017. it's 15 months wait. after the test this morning, my application status is still "received" but at least its a good sign. -

The new residence requirements for in the Australian Citizenship Act 2007 mean that applicants will need: four (4) years lawful residence in Australia immediately prior to making an application for Australian citizenship with at least 12 months as a permanent resident, and absences from Australia of no more than 12 months in total in the four (4) years prior to application, and no more than ninety (90) days in the 12 month permanent residency period prior to application. yes you are right, i just searched and the previous rule has been taken back. -

congras to u for granting PR. The rule has changed since last year. no matter how many years u have stayed in Australia legally, it doesnt count. Only AFTER your PR is granted, then from that day you need to be here for 4 years before you can apply citizenship. -

sorry to hear that, so you mean you company is US base but they have business here to get u and your colleague work here? I can see why immi requires your company to have an office in Australia that your company could send u anytime anywhere in the world. that's what they worry your position when some industry is too "flexible" i think.
