Update for my ENS Timeline

Employer Nomination application lodged: 17th September 2013

Lodged my part + all docs apart from medicals: 1st November 2013

Employer Nomination approved on: 20th Dec 2013

Medicals Booked 3rd January 2013

Had a call from the case officer telling me to book the medicals ASAP and to upload the Birth Cert for my 6 month old baby, apart from that nothing else is required, pretty reasonable timelines to be honest and fairly straight forward. Did all this myself as the process isnt rocket science and i didnt really have the money to pay an Immi agent. Hopefully this process will be closed out in the next 4/5 weeks. Been a long slog after 5 years in Oz on a 417, and two 457's with a redundancy and career change halfway through.

All up this process will have cost me best part of 9k Australian for Adults x2 and one child, but seeing it as an investment in the future and glad to have it all over and done with. Will be also be able to claim the baby bonus that ranges between 3k -5k which will re-coup some of the expenditure.

Will keep you all posted on when the decision is made and happy to answer any Q's.

Cheers and happy NYE

Your situation is very close to mine! I've been here 4 years on a 417, and 2 457s (first job was made redundant but the company redeployed and sponsored me in another similar role). Just applied for my 186 and hoping for a quick grant so that I can get paid parental leave when my baby arrives (though unlikely but stranger things have happened), my partner is Aussie so we can get the baby bonus if ours comes 2 weeks early as it is being scrapped come March 1st!!

Hope you get your grant very soon

The waiting is really starting to get to me! Has anyone had any approvals from Perth recently?

Here's my timeline:.

ENS 186 Perth | temporary transit | MA DRC

12/07/2013: Employer nomination submitted

04/10/2013: Application lodged (all documents )

04/10/2013: Acknowledgement letter received.

07/11/2013: Nomination approved

I hope I have some news soon. My MA says she wont chase as its not been 6 months. Does anyone know if the clock starts ticking from nomination lodge date or visa lodge date? I cant seem to get a straight answer....

Where was your visa lodged?

we lodged Melbourne on 6th August and nothing yet. Agent chased and got standard reply saying we had no CO yet and they were allocating in lodgement order. Doesn't seem like it to me reading on here.

I lodged mine in Melbourne in October (nomination and application lodged a day apart), nomination was approved in November and my visa granted in December. I don't think there's any fixed process or system in how they allocate COs.

Hi Nick,

Im not 100% sure but reading the qualifications for the baby bonus, the PR Visa has to be granted within 26 weeks of birth (if so for us thats a real bummer), we have a child born in Australia and coming up to one yr old in the next 2 weeks.

The wife is off to centerlink to see if this indeed this in the morning.

My Sister put in her application to the Melbourne office about 5 weeks ago (186 temp transition herself plus defacto boyfriend) after her nomination was approved. She's had medicals requested today which I think is pretty quick! I recently put in my application same day as employer nomination - feels a really big risk doing it before nomination approval. Really hope I made the right decision!

Hi there - can anybody tell me if the 186 application requires 2 x passport photographs to be uploaded? Also did anybody upload colour copies of originals documents rather than having them certified? I've done this but wondering if its worth getting them certified still as all immigration info refers to certified copies. Many thanks.

Hi Melbkitty ,

I did not submit 2 X passport photographs . I uploaded some color copies and some black & White (certified)

I uploaded colour copies of passport photos as well as certified documents (passport, birth certificate, etc.) and police checks. I thought it's odd to upload certified copies but figured maybe they ask random people to submit the hard copies and wanted to make sure it would be identical with what I'd uploaded.

Hi Guys

I got a call from my Case officer on the 20th Dec requesting me to complete my medicals, she said that she would follow up with an email outlining anything else that i needed to do, this hasn't happened no email and no contact details.

I have completed my medicals know and dont have any way of getting in touch with my CO, pretty disapointed that this never happened pretty bad customer service. Is there any way i can find out who my CO is, or do i have to call the general phone line and get the stock standard response?

Has anyone else had the same issues?

Thanks
