stephanie1982 Posted December 30, 2015 Share Posted December 30, 2015 Hoping someone can give me a bit of advice...when I was contacted by co they asked for a copy of my husbands army discharge papers and it stated they were to be certified unfortunately we cannot find them have looked high and low so we got the army records office to send out the information as they can not replace the originals. The letter just gives details of enlistment and discharge. My question is would this need to be certified as it's not original discharge paperwork! I'm getting myself in a tiz wanting to make sure there is no reason for co to ask for further information which would then result in a longer wait. Would really appreciate some advice! I have been in Australia over christmas visiting and I got to speak with the director of a company that is interested in hiring me. Long story short - I had skype interviews earlier in the year and they offered me a job on 457 sponsorship but it fell through (timing wasn't right). Anyway, I told them I'm expected to receive my 189 very soon and they have offered me a job, as long as I get my visa grant and I can be in the country within the next 4-5 weeks. They can't wait any longer than that and have a pile of CV's on their desk. My question is - Is there any way I can contact IMMI to tell them that I need my visa asap otherwise my job offer will lapse if I don't get it in time? Kirstyj Posted January 5, 2016 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Hi from the day we lodged our application until the day we got our visa was exactly 31days, our police checks and medicals were all in place to, we were assigned a case officer after 2 weeks asking for photos of us together as we are not married uploaded these the same day then we heard nothing until the visa was granted. I base my estimate on the visa tracker (one of the web-sites), according to the tracker DIBP currently processing cases with CO contact date on or around 5th of November. According to the davesh1s' signature he has been contacted on the 9th of November - so I would expect him to receive his grant within next 10 days. Obviously, there are certain cases when CO takes much-much longer to process (or vice-versa very processes really quick) , but if he is an "average applicant" - then he should receive a grant soon. Current 28 days review cycle (after CO contacts you) is somewhere around 28-90 days for about 80%+ of applicants. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yes they requested an updated reference from one of my old employers as it didn't mention the extension to the contract I had at the time. Also they asked for 10 years of payslips/tax certs/ bank statements to prove I got paid for 10 years, which in my opinion is almost impossible, but I managed to scrape together proof of about 7 years, all at random intervals so hopefully they'll accept that. Anyway I submitted all this stuff on Nov 13th so it's been almost 8 weeks. It's exactly 8 weeks and one day since they were last in contact with me. Really need this visa to come through asap as there's a job depending on it so I am wondering whether I can somehow expedite it by mentioning this. All of this however has been a long process, it's been in the pipeline for about 6 years. We went to our first downunder live in 2011 and I first spoke to a visa specialist in 2009. Trained as an electrician, moved to Bristol from Cornwall as the work slowed down in Cornwall and I needed to complete my quals. What's the amount if I already paid 1800 $ for her. Is it another 1800?
