I know I'm being a bit impatient but I can't help but wonder why this point takes so long. I have submitted everything they asked for pcc and medicals are complete and cleared so why now does the granting of the visa take weeks and weeks. Great news hjd We are just waiting for grant now as all docs in pcc and medicals all cleared so would be a great new year present. What do you teach? I'm a college teacher so hoping to get work in that sector Gold Coast way but not hoping too much as if it's anything like here then it's very hard to get a full time contract. Use an agent and be prepared to spend a lot of money doing it would be my advise.

My wife and I lodged our 189 from the 8th October round and with our daughter now are just waiting for a agent to be assigned. Our only concern now is the medical as I'm a big chap and so will have a high BMI. I don't have any medical conditions or history and take no medication and work full time so hoping this will be fine but until that is done we can't start to dream too much.

I am about to complete my top up degree with cardiff uniiversity, just the disseration left so by May next year i wll be there so plan to start the visa process in january. Just done my IELTS and will complet my ANMAC before end of this year so not to slow the process and then after May/June its APHRA registration time, i just hope it doesnt take long as want to be over in oz by Jan 2016 at the latest. Good luck to all doing top ups

Interesting but I haven't applied yet as still sorting visa and finishing my top up degree but qualified for almost 10 years. Just want to keep up to date with updates.

I don't have any idea how I can hit criteria 8 now I have looked into it closely. I am 9 years trained and work in a cath lab. I am about to complete my dissertation for my top up degree but am at a loss as to how show or gather evidence for this criteria. Do they offer 3 month unit bridging courses to meet this? Please help as this is my dream and have already begun the process but now worry I will get a visa but not be able to nurse.

Sorry yes forgot to say I am going for a 189 visa which may cost more or less than others. I want permanent visa but depends what your plans are

Hi Sandra, you will need to do both ANMAC and aphra as ANMAC is just used to assess you for a visa. Sorry IELTS will also need to be done for visa. Aphra is like the nmc here and even with a visa you will need that to work as a nurse over thee. Criteria 8 is causing me a lot of hassle too and I estimate the whole process will cost about £5000 once everything is done. It's confusing as he'll but keep on these forums and read on oz websites it does start to make sense eventually. I hope me and my family will get everything sorted and be there by January 2016 so good luck
