Visa Granted today!! I have a 189 Visa!! Celebration time!!!

Yes they requested an updated reference from one of my old employers as it didn't mention the extension to the contract I had at the time. Also they asked for 10 years of payslips/tax certs/ bank statements to prove I got paid for 10 years, which in my opinion is almost impossible, but I managed to scrape together proof of about 7 years, all at random intervals so hopefully they'll accept that. Anyway I submitted all this stuff on Nov 13th so it's been almost 8 weeks. It's exactly 8 weeks and one day since they were last in contact with me. Really need this visa to come through asap as there's a job depending on it so I am wondering whether I can somehow expedite it by mentioning this.

Hi All, Still waiting here for my grant, but I have a bit of an update I would like some opinion on. I have been in Australia over christmas visiting and I got to speak with the director of a company that is interested in hiring me. Long story short - I had skype interviews earlier in the year and they offered me a job on 457 sponsorship but it fell through (timing wasn't right). Anyway, I told them I'm expected to receive my 189 very soon and they have offered me a job, as long as I get my visa grant and I can be in the country within the next 4-5 weeks. They can't wait any longer than that and have a pile of CV's on their desk. My question is - Is there any way I can contact IMMI to tell them that I need my visa asap otherwise my job offer will lapse if I don't get it in time? There's a potential career job on the line here!!

I feel I might be close too, CO contacted on 9th Nov and docs sent in 13th Nov.. nothing since. I emailed them last Monday and send in another document explaining my job spec for one of my jobs as my old job refused to put my job duties on my reference letter

Hi, I did not submit form 80 or 1221 or a passport photo, CO hasn't asked for it, only payslips and a new reference for one of my jobs (as the old one didn't mention the dates). Medical is now done, submitted and passed. I wonder if I had to fill out 80 and 1221 would he just have asked me to when he made contact about the payslips/reference? Any recommendation on this would be greatly appreciated

Got Case Officer contact today.. He asked for a more detailed reference from one of my jobs (as I was a contractor and the reference I gave was for my agency) He also asked for proof of payment - 10 years of payslips/bank statements.. how am I meant to provide this info? I probably have 6 out of 10 years worth of payslips and maybe some bank statements Plus I took a sabbatical during one of my roles.. I was still employed but I wasn't getting paid for 10 months.. should I tell them? it wont affect my points or anything but I want to be honest

Does everyone have to fill out a P80? What does one have to have done to have to fill out a P80?

Hey All, I just finished uploading a load of documents, I really hope they will all suffice as I uploaded most of them separately, so I really don't want to have to hit the limit of 60 docs.. Anyway, now that I have paid for the visa and uploaded the docs, do I need to wait to get told to do a medical or can I just go ahead and do it myself? Thanks

I only had 55 points up until two weeks ago, done the IELTS and somehow managed to get all 9's.. I feel the pain of not having enough points so I'm not taking it for granted :smile:
