ItchyFeet76
http://www.smh.com.au/world/hijacked-virgin-blue-plane-forced-to-land-at-bali-airport-says-indonesian-tv-report-20140425-zqzn0.html Anyone heard anything more about this? It was on the TV (Sky News) just now, and I've found a couple of things on the web, but only one under 'news' and that was in Spanish... Hope everyone is ok
ItchyFeet76
Sky have now just said a passenger tried to enter the cockpit but they're not sure if he managed to gain access or not. The good news is it seems all is well now :-)
ItchyFeet76
More clarification from Sky News - the passenger was drunk and there was no hijacking. Very relieved as I'm a nervous flyer anyway, and after MH370 I'm even more reluctant to fly long-haul anywhere. Thankfully this was a false alarm, but will the next one be...? Sir Les Patterson
Unless he was carrying something like this he ain't gonna get through the cockpit door.
Rupert
Ridiculous over reactions all round. I had to read the story a few times just now as I was sure I read that a plane from Brisbane to Baliwas hijacked and forced to land at, err, Bali - not a very effective hijacking then. Parley
I don't think you can over react about someone bursting into the cockpit. If that is what happened this guy will definitely have a stint in jail to think about his actions.
Guest Guest66881
I watched a tv show about hijacking planes via cockpit entry, and the one showed how hard it would be to actually gain entry into the cockpit, he was kicking and throwing his body at the door for ages even tried running and jumping at it, all to no avail :notworthy:
Parley
Yes. Unless you waited until someone opened the door for whatever reason. I'm sure you couldn't just kick the door open. No doubt we will hear more soon.

VERYSTORMY
Probably just a bogan who was desperate for cheap Bali beer and thought the plane wasnt fast enough
forgil
There's going to be a lot of alarm bells go off when this idiot tries to book flights in the future. That's if he doesn't get banned from flying outright.

Lambethlad
Setting a new low for bogans - Matt Christopher Lockley, 28, a plumber from Queensland. Apparently he was drunk and aggressive. Shouldn't the cabin crew take some responsibility for allowing him to get so sloshed?
calNgary
According to news reports he wasnt drunk and needed his medication. http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/virgin-australia-passenger-that-sparked-flight-drama-on-way-to-bali-denies-he-was-drunk/story-fniztvng-1226896183373 Cal x
