  1. you're wrong there Dave....not all of us did (I know that no one in my circle of "leftist" friends or party members ever forgave the prick)
  2. You've obviously never driven a Falcon XR6 Turbo at full song then
  3. It is really crap here in Cairns today.......I think you pommies should go somewhere where you would be more comfortable........Melbourne or Perth would suit you more.
  4. @Bobj always love how the military come up with the names for exercises etc...I remember a couple of callsigns allocated to aircraft I was flying at the time in the RAAF....a Mirage I was flying was callsigned "Dagger" (loved that) and once in the F111 "Playboy Diamond" (loved it as well)
  5. You're right @The Pom Queen never flown one, flew in a few Hueys in my Vietnam days and also an odd jaunt when in the Air Force. @MXSX I have seen a few robinson R22s in Townsville when I pass through there so I would presume they are from this organisation http://www.townsvillehelicopters.com.au/ there is also a training organisation at Ingham north of Townsville http://hinchinbrookheli.com.au/training.php and this is the one in Cairns http://www.gbrhelicopters.com.au/flight-training/faqs/how-much-does-it-cost/ it won't be cheap but best of luck.....my flying career is coming to a close after 40+ years but I've enjoyed every minute of it both military and commercial ,have fun.
  6. I'm told (on good authority) Kate, that the primary cause of this particular injury is over enthusiastic and vigorous sexual activity
  7. Hope so but as I said, time will tell
  8. One can only hope that you don't show the bias that some other Mods both past and present have shown, but I guess time will tell.
  9. @ramot, your dad was a WW2 glider pilot, Horsa or Hamilcar.......respect.......your Pegasus brooch was from Operation Deadstick ?
  10. The mighty "Tiffy".............I wish I had known my Uncle Bob but alas it was not to be.....they were brave men @bottler1942 . I always wonder what he would have thought when I pursued a piloting career in the RAAF
  11. Not my photo but today's sunrise from the online version of the Cairns Post.......as you can see another crappy day here in Far North Qld
  12. Bloody hell Paul, while reading your post a strong wind must have blown grit into my eyes, can't stop them from watering.
  13. When I had my knee replaced recently they give you a pair of socks (red) in hospital with rubber on the bottom to avoid this very thing....most effective.
  14. Nah, Kev, here in Cairns we don't even have to worry about socks.....always let the feet go au naturel
