I really like plovers.  They are right characters.  Got loads round about where we live.  They are very territorial when they are nesting and very protective of their babies.  They have a bad rep because of their swooping but it's only to protect their chicks.

My first sighting of a dugong...Ball Bay is a gazetted dugong sanctuary, but a certain "pro fisherman" used to set his nets in the bay and drag the nets which scraped the seagrass away. Consequently, no one has seen any in the bay for many years.

It headed out towards Brampton Island.

Did you notice in the photos,  the cyclonic conditions we are experiencing from cyclone 'Owen'??

😃

Cheers, Bobj.

Some idiots put this shark in the lake next to us at midnight about 3 months ago.

Both the police and council were informed, but apparently it’s not a crime to throw a fish/shark into a land locked lake!! It is a salt water tidal lake, but controlled by a weir at one end.

A council worker did walk round the lake once but didn’t see the shark so took no action!!

It was a good 5ft and was finally caught a few days ago and released back into the river.

Oh dear. Not sure why.... I can see it.

Today we had the kind of wildlife I’m not as keen on!

Aaargh.  I suppose the colder days are gone now so the slightly warmer weather will bring them out.  Blimey it looks just like a stick.  So easy to step on.

I still can't see your echidna.  🙁

Just after first light, an osprey visited me, landing on the rocks 20 metres away, looking for a 'handout'.

Caught a mackerel and put the frame on the rock hoping the osprey would return. Never saw it but later, as I was leaving, noticed a brahminy kite perched in a tree.

No idea if either bird got a feed, as I couldn't see  through the bush.

Cheers, Bobj.
