Kubby, Did you submit your medicals after CO was assigned or even before that?

1 day before I got the case officer/Visa grant.

Thursday my medical was uploaded and I got my case officer assigned as well as the visa granted on saturday.

Hello Everyone,

I am a software engineer and I am planning to apply for australia immigration under 189 category. I would like to know if the education skills have to sent for assessment before lodging the EOI? and also is there any minimum period of work experience required to be eligible under this category? I have MY MS in advanced computer science from UK if that matters. Thanks a lot in advance for any suggestions.. Highly appreciated..cheers

As far as I'm aware, you require only a skills assessment before submitting your EOI, often skills assessment will comment on your degree if relevant to the skilled assessment occupation. If you have a non-relevant degree, submit just degree certificate and transcript and DIAC will assess.

No minimum work experience, only what your require to get 60 points.

Good luck!!

@red hand,

thanks for your quick response mate. according to what i understand, I just need to send my degree certificate for the skills assessment right? my degree is relavent to the occupation I am applying for.. I do have 60 points (30 points for age, 20 for IELTS, 15 for the education).. that should be enough?

If you are using your degree as a basis of your skills assessment, it will depend on requirements of assessing body.

My assessing body required 3 things:

- degree certificate

- degree academic transcript (exam marks for each module you studied)

- course handbook outlining content of all your modules

If you only require to verify your educational qualifications for visa (and not skills assessment) you will require 2 things:

- degree certificate

- degree academic transcript (exam marks)

Hope this helps!! Your university should be able to provide your academic transcript within a few days if you dont already have one.

As long as you have a positive skills assessment for you nominated occupation, I don't believe experience is necessary, however, you wont be able to claim any points for your work experience in your EOI then.

You might want to confirm with DIAC office to be sure, you can phone the London office and they will advise you straight away.

Hey all,

I am preparing my skilled visa paperwork. To make things go quicker would you recommend I get my police check and medical done now. if so, where and how can I get this done I.e. crb or police check, my local GP or a clinic? Please advise.

t

hanks a lot

We waited until we were asked for them as your visa will be dated according to the earliest date on your check or medical. You need to go on acpo website for police check and go to specialised clinics for medicals. If you click on your medical link on your visa app all details are there. Meds cost our family of 4 £750 as depending in age of children depends on examinations required. Everyone over 11 needs chest X-ray and over 16 blood tests my children are 9 and 12 so neither had full meds. Police checks are needed for everyone over 18 and were £45 each I think.

Hi,

I have lodged a 189 visa application with an IELTS test result of more than 12 months old. It was mentioned that IELTS test result of past 36 months required for me and my spouse while I was filling out the visa application. Currently, the case officer has not approved my spouse IELTS. What should I do?

Thanks man !! I am from India as well and work in IT.

hey mate,

Need some help man.. My name is kiran.. I live in london but I am indian.. I am planning to apply for the 189 category. I am not sure if it is mandatory to have IT experience to be eligible coz I have my masters (MS) in advanced computer science from UK. I have 65 points (30 for age, 20 for IELTS, 15 for degree) .. I have just received an offer from an IT company for a job which means I do not have experience. so, Is it mandatory to have experience in the relavent occupation or is the relavent degree sufficient considering I have sufficient points? thanks fo any suggestions..cheers

Hiya, you need to apply for your visa and upload all your documents then wait for a case officer who will email asking for further documents or just ask for police checks and medicals. Once they've got that your visa will be granted. Timescales are difficult. Could be a month or it could be four months. Good luck x

Hi,

Yesterday I have submitted the ACS skill assessment, with post graduations (MCA) certificate & transcript and bachelor degree with Degree only not transcripts.

I had done bsc in mathematics but don't have the transcript. So they request for transcript and said if not submitted within 30 days we'll do the assessment with current document.

Let say I will not submitted the transcript for BSC in mathematics, will it give -ve assessment as I have applied for soft eng and have submitted post grad details and everything

Will they consider bsc in mathematics qualification for soft eng assessment ?

Hi Friend, even I have no idea. But Can you try and see if online system allows you to create an EOI without any relevant experience? If Yes, then create and submit. Even if it gets rejected later on, you can create and submit another EOI after 6 months. You have nothing to loose.

BTW, You don't need to mention your nationality. It doesn't matter to me. My answer to your question will be same for anyone in this forum.

Cheers!!

You don't necessarily need any experience. Skill select is designed so that people with either experience and/or a qualification become eligible to apply. When you fill out the application, you will be asked to list all your work experience for the last 10yrs (from memory). You will also be asked if you are claiming points from the listed work experience.

I am a graduate and was invited to apply even though I only had 6months engineering work experience.
