  1. Hi all, not sure if I've posted in the right place but we move to Melbourne arriving on 7th Nov. We are desperately trying to find a reasonable man/men with van to collect various items we have purchased for our new place. its been a nightmare doing this all online between work and sleep. So hoping someone has a recommendation or know someone that has a luton sized van and is reasonable I.e $50-60per hour, for 3 hours work. thanks a lot
  2. has the sofa suite gone and is there any chance it could be collected on 7th Nov? We will pay $50. Let me know. thanks Katrina
  3. Hi there, the price is significantly high is there any movement in the price?.
  4. We are finally moving to Melbourne in November 13 so very excited! Hoping to move to St Kilda. There is so much to sort out from the right bank account to where to live?!?? Any advice or comments?
  5. Thats not necessarily true. It depends on the employers previous exp of nomination. We did ours at the same time as our employer (who had done it before) and it was fine. The risk is that if nomination is not granted you loose your visa payment and get refused. All the best.
  6. Mine has taken two weeks exactly. All documents were provided and verified. We did not have any criminal or health needs. All the best
  7. Hi, I have just applied for 457 visa in Victoria and wondered on the processing time line for others and your experiences. Such as police checks and medicals: Were they always requested? How long did they take. Thanks
  8. Hey Kezzles i did mine last month and it was relatively ok but I did spend the week leading up to it revising like a crazy person. The speaking was fine the examiner asked about my day then had a some focussed questions about what do I do to relax and where would I like to go on holiday then I had to speak for 5mins on a meal I enjoyed and why. reading I would advise you don't over read the question as they are not trick but read it clearly as I did have a tenancy to see what I thought was the answer blatantly in the first paragraph then reading further realised I was too hasty. the listening is where I got 7.5 (my worst score) and that's because I lost concentration figuring where on a map I was being directed too so guessed the location letters. Otherwise I would just advise to revise on the free website for at least a few hours to get to grips with the process as it does reflect the examination process as much as possible. all the best and good luck
  9. I am sending mine off today. What document did you send and what was missing? I have limited bank statements from my old employer and getting more is next to impossible so worried AASW will request them causing delay.
  10. Really appreciate that, I will wait. Thanks

  15. Hi all, I would really appreciate some advice and tips for applying for jobs and interviewing skills for jobs in NT. My Partner has a job and we will be moving by the end of the year albeit I can secure a job. I am just over three years post qualified in Child Protection Social Work with an MA degree and post qualifying certificate as well as 10 years in fostering, youth work, residential care and community development. I am awaiting to hear from my recent application but have struggled to find any agencies or post I can apply as a UK citizen but I am worried about struggling to find work. To help me I have read some literature, published papers and research in relation to NT, working with aboriginal people and social care issues in NT. I would really like to know if there is anything specific I should be researching, tips from your own experience in interviews, time frames from application to achieving the job, any difficulties or words of wisdom to consider and what to expect in the process. Kind regards
