  1. Thank you so much LizzyTinKnicks, well lot of them were saying on the forum that Bankwest atm card can be used everywhere without any fee. Looks like I have to go and ask them if they can give me some special account where I won't be charged any fees. ING doesnt sound that bad will do some research. Thanks again
  2. Well since we are discussing about the benefits here on the forum I see no harm in asking a question which I know sounds stupid. Better be stupid then not asking anything and later finding it out that hey if i did some research or yabber jabber last time then i wouldn't be paying extra $5 to $ 10 per month, from which $2 can go to some random homeless kids education in some countries or the rest going back in your own pocket. I reckon charity begins at home but little sharing wont hurt. YES BANKS are BUSINESS but they won't be unless we don't keep all our money in. Oh I'm not a banker but they make money from your money and when they go bankrupt they give you only some part of it not ALL OF WHAT YOU STORED IN IT. If I owned a business i would never give it for free unless I own a BANK mate. Thank you for not answering the question, have a good one.
  3. Of course mate who doesn't like it. Why would I want to pay extra if I can get it for free. Also everybody has to pay tax & I'm included as well but why pay the bank. If you know any who can do that please tell me. It will not only help me but so many of them who are moving here. Sorry if you work for any bank and I offended you but I want the best for me mate.
  4. Hi calNgary, I had my TFN when i was in Aus as a student. The old passport got exhausted so had to apply for new one and received my PR on the new one. I'm assuming that the TFN was linked with the old one, so for new do I just have to update it or can i apply for new TFN?
  5. Thanks mate I likey likey the idea LOL. I'm confused between NAB & CBA. Thinking about Bankwest but hard to find a branch in melbourne. I reckon once I land i need to personally talk to these guys & then lets see what's best. Yah i'm still open to any info regarding the best ones, feel free to share with me. Cheers
  6. Bankwest they say doesnt charge any fees but let's say if i have to withdraw money from the bank ( not the ATM) and if i cant find the branch can i withdraw from CBA? Since it's under CBA
  7. Thank you so much Pom Queen, well let's say if i go with NAB, & wanna withdraw from Commonwealth ATM is there a fee for that ? Since CBA is the most common in AUS and NAB doesnt charge monthly or ATM withdrawal fees? Am I right or wrong.
  8. Hi folks, I will be flying to Melbourne in few days, have read about A-Z banks on this forum. Can anyone please tell me which bank in Melbourne I should go for? 1. No Monthly Fees? 2. Can use ATM card in any banks wall without any fee? 3. Has good internet banking and teller without any fee? Sorry but after reading here I wanna ask someone who can share some light on this. Thank you
  9. mate moving to Melb is not as stressful as moving from Pomland. You will just be fine, do you have contacts of those aussie people you met in bali? If u have then give them a ring. You can find rental properties on realestate.com.au or flatmates.com.au

  11. Congrats Ishan finally you have your grant and all the best to you like i said before they are waiting for PCC and then you will get your grant ASAP. Have a good time in Kangrooland hop hop hop hop hop hop hop hop hop hahahahahaha
  12. Hi Tamilope, Well I think there is a misunderstanding, anyways I apologize if I said that. I personally believe that lot of organizations have their budget for a new year and they have in mind about how many people to hire for next year and so etc etc.... The matter is in regards to Australia and not any particular state or territory. Isn't that in every country that end of the year there are fewer job opportunities? I reckon you know what i mean. I may be wrong as I'm not an expert, but you never know you might score a job before the end of this year. All the best & if you find job do share the good news with us. For my wife I told her to come to Aus next year and look for a job, as she is in IT. We gonna be in Melbourne, Victoria, so yah sorry again as I meant more job opp. in all over Aus. Cheers
  13. Hi egrek and about food trust me mate you havn't tries food in melb to say that its not good compared to adelaide. Go anywhere in melb and the food is the best in Australia. Right from Italian , english, turkish , greek, vietnamese, thai, chinese, jap, afrikan, muslim chinese, indonesian, indian, french, croatian etc etc... Malaysian food is not upto the mark and Filipino restos i hav nt come across. Anyone who can share with me some nice Malay or filipino resto in melb would be awesome.
  14. Hi egrek, Well I understand and thank you for sharing that big post, I'm sure it will help lot of people. Well as far as job wise i think anyone can get job in melb, whether WHV, STUDENT, Temp visa etc. My own experience as I was there for 3 years as a student and it was awesome. Not hard at all. In fact lot of WHV were in Melb and second most popular with them is darwin coz they can score a job in bar or rasto with backpacker facility.
