1. stayed there for a weekend a few months ago....nice hotel, good location
2. Finally got VISA GRANT!! After Medibank eventually got their Sh*t together ...everything else went swimmingly. Good luck to everyone else waiting
3. Hi George I'm in a similar situation to you, we did your medicals on 25th March, and are still waiting. I emailed our CO last week and just received a reply yesterday saying she hadn't received them, so called Medibank who said that they have been waiting for the Dr from the clinic to send something and it should be sorted by next week! I'm so angry as when I called Medibank 2weeks ago I was told that everything was being sent to immigration THAT day :arghh: I'd hoped that by doing the medicals early we would get our visa quicker, but as it turns out its the medicals that are holding us up....also I cant think of anything that could be causing the hold-up as we're both fairly healthy 31 year olds. Hope we both hear some good news soon Nerys
4. If its the size and shape of a credit card I would assume its your NMC Pin card...not entirely sure though.
5. So I received an email from immigration today stating: Thank you for your email. Please be advised that as your spouse is an Irish passport holder he meets the requirement of competent English and an IELTS test is not required. Good to know it was just a mistake
6. ANMAC skills assessment is valid for 2 years. Glad to hear your employers will do the reference. Good luck with the whole process
7. Hi, I had 65points for my EOI. Though from the looks of it immi seem to be inviting people with 60points each round now.
8. Thanks Rupert, just waiting for CO to reply, hoping it is just a mistake.
9. Hi Chris, I'm hoping he will be ok as he only has to prove he has competent English:

Competent 0 You must provide one of the following: evidence that you hold a passport from Canada, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom or the United States of America an IELTS result showing you have a band score of at least 6 on each of the four components of speaking, reading, listening and writing evidence that you have taken an OET language test and attained a score of at least B in each of the four components of an OET as specified by the Minister for Immigration and Citizenship.

10. Yes I provided info using his Irish passport as its the only passport he has.
11. Hi Have you called ANMAC to ask them about this? I had a similar problem as I worked for an agency so could get a reference from them but as they're just an agency they wouldn't have observed me at work and couldn't comment on my competence as a nurse. I rang them and they suggested I that I send in the reference from the agency but also from the Nurse Managers whom i would've worked for as an agency nurse.
12. Sorry I forgot to say : Yes his occupation Engineering Technologist is on the SOL
13. Hi, I should probably give some more info: My husband was born in Zimbabwe but has an Irish passport as his mother is Irish. His first (and only) language is English and he completed all his education in English....he moved to Britain when he was 14 and so completed his GCSEs, A-Levels and degree in English. He has a skills assessment from Engineers Australia for which he didn't need a IELTS. I'm hoping the CO just made a mistake and his Irish passport will be enough, thanks for your suggestions all.
14. Hi, We've just been assigned a CO (which is great) but they've asked for a IELTS for my husband even though he holds an Irish passport. I'm the main applicant but claimed 5 points for partner skills, according to immi all he needs is Competent English which is covered if you have a passport from certain countries of which Ireland is one. I've emailed our CO but in the meantime just wondering if anyone has been in this or similar situation? Cheers Nerys
15. Woo, so excited got our CO assigned today!! wasn't expecting it for another few weeks. Hopefully this means once they receive the documents they've requested it wont be long till our visa is granted <fingers crossed>
