Dear all,

Since I'm waiting for decision on my application like many other here, I wish to know if you are also in similar situation? I'm not able to focus on work properly and keep moving back and forth between my current work and my plans for Oz movement (studies for new job etc and other plans). Obviously work is suffering due to all this.

I'm hopeful about the grant but its just taking time without any updates from CO/MOC as my son's case was referred in Jan (and we submitted final medical reports in mid Feb to DIAC).

How are others coping with the wait and how are they dealing at work ??

regards

As you can see from my below timeline that I am one of those HR Country belonging applicant that can take up to 24 months for a grant.

I've asked this question myself number of times and only came up with one answer. The salary!

If I am tasked and paid for to do what I do, I must do to the fullest extent of my abilities whether I believe my future is not where I am while at the same time preparing myself for the coming. It is as simple as that.

I believe I gave my best to where I am in 2012 in comparison to past despite the fact, I believed then I won't be in this organization for more than a year. I earned several professional certifications in 2011 and 2012 to prepare myself and now I am now training my colleagues in data analytic and other disciplines. Quite simply, they gave me experience that enabled me to apply for the visa and that's the least I could do short of staying. ^_^

Back on the topic;

my meds are still referred since 22nd Feb =)

21.01.2013 - EOI submitted

17.02.2013 - Visa 189 lodged

20.02.2013 - Meds at Village

03.04.2013 - Visa grant

This is a timeline from a HR country, mine. Now look at my timeline.

I really have no idea how MOC works:eek:.

All the best to all you guys that received the grant. I wish you safe journey and a beautiful beginning.

Hi guys,

I have just done my medicals. Just checking if I can inform my CO about that? Also how can I find out whether my medicals are reffered or not?

Thanks

I think you can. CO will tell you if your medical's sent to MOC. Offshore may be different.

Hi all

10 weeks and counting. Not getting any easier. Does any one know how they te classify the referrals . Is is non serious first or as they come. Thought ours would be straight forward. Letter from my husbands consultant saying all fine and no cost would be involved. Just can't get my head round how they work

Hi All,

i too have been relieved to find this thread! We had our medicals on June 7th. All 3 kids were finalised June 14th. My husband was finalised July 25th (He had to get some blood pressure readings done as they were high at the medical - but were fine over a 3 week period).

Mine were first referred June 20th, this was expected as I have a medical condition. I provided a specialist report at my medical, but they came back early July and asked a question regarding medication (which I am no longer on). I got another specialist letter back to them by July 18th. This has not changed since and neither have I heard anything. I've called our panel Dr in England and they've said everything has been sent off from them and that we now need to deal with GH.

I've been trying to be patient, as i do feel nervous due to my medical condition. Today though I decided to email my CO to ask if they do have everything that they need as nothing has changed on our application since July 3rd against my name.

Its funny isn't it....when you're waiting for a CO, you don't give it much thought and you just get on with life, but as it gets closer, its all you think about! My poor family in Australia are texting/facetime every other day and can't believe its taking so long! Me.... I'm getting more nervous each day and am becoming more negative :( I've no idea how they cost you up - if its as a family or individual... I keep saying each week "We should know this week..." and another week passes! We got our CO at the beginning of May so its really dragging out now and everything is hanging on me now!

Anyway.... Let's hope we all hear some positive news this week.

Hi Kathy,

I wish I could tell you how MOC work, we are totally kept in the dark

Our meds were 30th Nov '12 and referred end of Jan. As there could be a possibility I or my son may fail the meds (we both have medical conditions) I'm totally frazzled being on tenterhooks (is that how you spell it?!) for 5 looong months...

Hope we all get some good news soon - its been a very quiet week so hope next week is choccablock with passes and grants! Good luck everyone! xx

Hi Soooty

Would you know why it took so long from you having medical done to you acctually being refered and with it being a known condition did you supply specialist reports. I only ask as i to have a medical condition and supplied reports but 8 weeks later still dont know at what date they were refered from, my CO doesnt pass on any information and i cant access anything online, so was just doing a little digging. Im applying 187 sponsership and the employer is getting quite addiment on me being there soon as they wanted me to go the root of a 457 and are now quite anoid that it is taking so long. Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi Pete,

I'm so sorry to hear that - so fustrating for you!:arghh:

I know someone on here got fast tracked through GH as her future employer was losing patience - her case officer got them to prioritize her application. Maybe it would be worth asking your CO if he could do the same? Could your future employer email him?

I emailed health.strategies@immi.gov.au and explained we had no CO to tell us when we had been referred ( as we are at the start of the visa 186 process) and they told me when we were referred. You could give them a try?

Yes, I got together consultant reports to take to the medicals and our application was paperbased. Unfortunately when our applications were sent to Oz it looks like they were caught in the Christmas post and took a while to arrive. I have no idea why it took 4 weeks to get referred. Maybe it was because we gave the guys at GH a lot of reading to do or maybe they are really big party animals and had a very long Christmas party! :biglaugh:

I hope this helps, I really hope you get some idea of a timeframe soon, its awful being in limbo and kept in the dark.

Best of luck Pete, let us know how you get on xx

Hi Soooty

The information is much appreciated, I'm going to hold out for the 3 month stage and try and wait my turn as when I last contacted my CO I got a very negative reply and after all it was my choice not to go the 457 root it seemed a little risky with a young family at the time, but I will keep you updated.

Thanks

Pete

It's been 3 weeks since my medicals were referred and the thought that I may have to wait another 3 months is not good!

We have sold our house and are living in a small flat temporarily. I always thought one advantage of the 457 was that at least we would get there quickly. Now it seems there is no advantage!
