  1. Hy Carol, I don't think that IMMI has something to do with the medicals. Once you do your medicals, the next step is E-health. If the medicals are Rated B (from countries that have medical problems, from medicals that still need to be checked) than the meds go to MOC (Medical Officer of the Commonwealth). They are the doctors that give you the "ok" (e-heatlh can rate you A and give you the "OK" and you can skip this step). If not, the meds go to MOC, the expected time is between 2 and 4 month (mine was 4 moths). But you should not worry about this. The CO is looking into your papers just about now. When the medicals are finalized, the grant will pump out in 2 days. All the best!
  2. Hy Phil, I am due to arrive in Perth on Jul 24th and I've opened an account, from overseas, at the Bank of Commonwealth. I don't know the rates, but someone will call you and you can ask for all the information you need. Good luck!
  3. I would say that you don't have to wait a long time. The visa will appear shortly. Good luck!
  4. Pffff, Think that after the medicals you'll get the grant. This idea was the only think that kept me alive all those 5 moths of waiting lol. All the best Peter AlmostinOz, I must tell that there are people referred from august 2012, so 2 moths is not such a long period of waiting. Patience is a virtue...
  5. I have no idea and I don't think that anybody could now this. Nowadays you just get the visa after meds finalized and that is all. All the best to all you guys!
  6. It seems that the long wait is over since I got the grant email this morning. You can see my timeline in the signature. I wish all the best, and a short wait..
  7. 21.01.2013 - EOI submitted 17.02.2013 - Visa 189 lodged 20.02.2013 - Meds at Village 03.04.2013 - Visa grant This is a timeline from a HR country, mine. Now look at my timeline. I really have no idea how MOC works:eek:. All the best to all you guys that received the grant. I wish you safe journey and a beautiful beginning.
  8. I have done my medicals on Dec 14th but they were referred only on Jan 26th. I feel I am losing it...
  9. I believe that they are waiting for other kind of visas, the former ones before July 1st ( 175, 176). Regarding what you wrote earlier, like I said, I was told that they got to Dec 20th, but I hope that during the holiday were not so many cases referred and hopefully we will hear something soon. I hope that you get your visa as quick as possible because that means that they are assessing Jan 11th  All the best!
  10. I am happy to hear that because I my meds were referred on Jan 26th. I am thinking that there were a few medicals referred in the holiday period. All the best!
  11. My CO answered and informed me that they process the medicals from 20 December. Good luck!
  12. Congrats to Candygirl, Delta Tango and all of you that have your meds finalized. It seems that MOC is back in bussiness. Hope we all get a positive reply shortly..
  13. On Jan 30th, when I received a CO my documents from E-Visa changed to "requested". On March 10th all the documents Changed from Requested" to "received". I was very happy that my CO didn't forgot me, but the ball is on MOC side and I think that I have to wait at least 1 moth, if not even more. All the best
  14. A very good idea. I have done the same...Hang in there
  15. I am in the same boat with you guys. Good luck Denis, speak with your CO and tell him that you had a job so you need a quick answer. I read somewhere here that "special" cases get prioritized. All the best!
  16. I don't think that will take them 4 month from now, I think 2 it's enough. I also hope that they didn't receive any medicals in the holiday period, so the waiting time would decrease. All the best!
  17. Very glad for you guys. All the best!
  18. Hy CandyGirl. I am watching your posts since we have about the same timeline. Question please: who couldn't access your results, MOC? I read that they are assessing the medicals received at the end of November. Look at the bright side, they got to your meds, no?
  19. Hy guys. My medicals were referred on Jan 31st, when my CO appeared, although I have done them on Dec 14th. I really hope that we will win some time somehow (I think that between Dec 23rd and Jan 7th no medicals were referred due to the holidays). Anybody thought of that or I am to eager to finish this process?
  20. My timeline is: IELTS 21.04.2012: 23.10.2012 EA - 233915 02.11.2012 EOI submitted 15.11.2012 ITA - Subclass 189 06.12.2012 - Visa lodged 14.12.2012 - Meds done 22.01.2012 - Meds uploaded to GH 30.01.2012 - CO Team 6 30.01.2013 - Meds referred to MOC As you can see I apply in December. Unfortunately, because there is a lag at MOC I must wait around 3 month for my medicals to be finalize. Like I said in other post, patience is a virtue. I waited 4 moth for my profession to be assessed and now I hit another wall. Luckily, some of you will not be put through the MOC misery. All the best for you all...
  21. That definitely was not your case. I was referring to "you" as second person plural. Ty, I hope the same..
  22. Yes Melza, thank you very much for asking. I am at the point where I wait for my medicals to be finalized at MOC, and after that I hope to start fresh in Perth. The harder part was to gather the money for the application. It is not easy when you are left with 100 quids for the rest of the month, after paying everything, but you learn to menage after some years (although the frustration grows in time). At one point I wanted to erase my post. I don't want you to think that I am complaining, but please don't label all the Romanians the same (thieves, beggars, etc). A large part of "the goods ones" are still here trying to save this country. Without any result, unfortunately.
  23. I am a Romanian Engineer, hoping to receive a 189 in the next few months. I know how Romanians are seen all over Europe, that is why I want to write you a couple of lines. I don't think that 175k jobs were snapped, because is very hard to work legally in your country, until now anyway. Although there are also Romanians that stay on benefits in UK, the gross majority are Gipsy people, Roma people, that don't go there with the will and the intention to work. Unfortunately the migrants that settle there aren't skilled one, the vast majority at least. We, the skilled ones, remained here to struggle and living here is very hard: for example we have the same prices like you, but very low salaries, etc. This is why some of us, that desire more from life, want to move far away. Until now, the ones that succeeded were the ones that I am not proud of. I hope in the future this thing will change. I hope that you don't take it hard on the doctors, the economists, the engineers and other skilled migrants that want to settle in your country. I really hope that your migration laws will tighten, and those people who don’t intend to work and only want to make quick money will not be granted to enter, or at least will not receive benefits and other kind of help only because they breathe. This way I shall not be ashamed of some of my countrymen
  24. Hy Ivetka, Every country has a period in after which the PCC will expire. In my country 6 months. I don't think you can do medicals until you get an invitation to apply, pay the visa and a TRN. After that you will receive a CO but I see that you have a lot of work until then. Concentrate on lodging for the visa.
  25. Thank you Petals for your kind answer. I will look into "jobs sections". I am heading to WA and I wanted to ask what is the situation outhere, in this field, what standards and regulations are used, maybe I can prepare myself for the future. All the best!
