  1. I did check the rate on yahoo finance but can't find where I made a note of it. Sorry
  2. Last week HSBC was 1.820232, moneycorp was 1.8192 and currencyfair 1.8380 but with a 4 aud fee.
  3. Try HSBC and when you are registered for Internet banking you can transfer money either way. Be careful with the interest which will be taxable in the UK.
  4. We are only planning to send odds and ends but were thinking of using a removal company. Is it a pain to have to buy all the packing materials and arrange paperwork for Australian customs?
  5. You don't have to apply. There is a temporary £1m limit for 6 month to cover house sale proceeds. Full details on the FSCS website.
  6. I hope you are right as we are the same date. Just wish that centrelink would get a move on. We put our house on the market yesterday and hope the sale and visa grant will happen at roughly the same time. Fingers crossed.
  7. Yes you still have to make repayments calculated on your Australian income. Each year you will have to submit pay slips and the student loan company will send you a schedule of what you need to pay. All the information is on the student loans website.
  8. We haven't heard yet. 18 weeks processing was up last Wednesday. Our son called them to chase them up on Thursday so fingers crossed we might hear soon but I'm not holding my breath.
  9. Hi Marilyn. Yes it's easy to do and from memory you can print or save it at the end. There is the choice of standard turnaround of 10 days or you can pay more for a quicker service. They needed another proof of address for my husband as they couldn't read the original and quickly got in touch by email.
  10. We compiled form 1022 as advised by our agent to inform PVC of changes to our sponsors circumstances. Sponsors can be different people to assurer when it comes to applying for aos.

    Visa Medicals....

No we didn't do that test.
  12. If PVC are processing to 3 June 2015 let's hope that centrelink get a move on with assurance of support applications. When you are assigned a case officer will they chase up centrelink?

    Visa Medicals....

We were told medical results go straight to immigration and if they are OK we would hear nothing.
  14. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/assurance-support/applying/apply-give-assurance-support Don't you just click on Sign in to myGov to start your application. Not sure that you have to provide id to centrelink office if you are using existing mygov and centrelink accounts, my son didn't.
  15. Try Google. Find their company website and you might be able to send a message. What country are you in? Some agents have other offices where you could ring and speak to someone to arrange a telephone call with the migration agent.
  16. We didn't put return dates on ours and our agent checked over them and said they looked OK
  17. You have already asked this question on the main parent visa thread. It is the 2nd visa application charge before the visa is granted.
  18. Yes all applicants have to complete the form 80.
  19. Don't forget to add in the cost of the assurance of support when you swap to the 143
  20. I wouldn't use them if they are not mara registered. Our original migration agents company is now dissolved but we are still waiting for our visa. Luckily we paid the fee by credit card so were able to get it back. Have a chat with the agents that post on this blog and see what their fee will be. What's the saying if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
  21. My son called centrelink to check on his application and was told that it would be 18 weeks.
  22. I have just been advised that Assurance of support applications at Centrelink are taking 18 weeks to process.
  23. I've asked him to check but I have just looked at human services website and I think you only need to provide id if you have created a new mygov account.
  24. Our son applied for aos online 9may with expected completion date 20 June but we haven't heard from them yet. I asked him if he had to go to centrelink and he said that he had done everything online I hope he was right about that. Anyway he is going to try and ring them this week for an update so we will see.
