  1. If you use HSBC to transfer UK to Oz why not use them for the reverse? I use HSBC and the rate has always been favourable to others and the transfer is instant.
  2. Have a look at Movecube ala Tetris by Kevsan July 17 2015 in shipping and removals.
  3. We are also using a cube and have a mix of plastic and cardboard boxes together with a couple of suitcases.
  4. Have you tried national savings and investments? Backed by the government so full amount of savings are safe.
  5. Not sure about NI contributions you could check the government website. Re his pension I have been advised by UK international pension centre that if you make sure HMRC have your Australian address they will know where to get in touch about 4 months before it is due to be paid.
  6. Yes that looks like my packing area we may have got more boxes filled at the moment. Don't have a date for shipping yet as we are still waiting for visas. I am finding the inventory the worst bit. We had started packing up but didn't put how many so had to open boxes to count things up. You can start the inventory and then save it for later. It's a bit of a chore so maybe worth taking a look now. Good luck.
  7. We have had the phone call just waiting for the acceptance letter.
  8. Centrelink are issuing AOS rejection letters in error. As they are so far behind their system is not recognising when documents have been provided by the applicant and is automatically sending a rejection letter.
  9. Thanks for the information. We are moving UK to Australia so looking at the thread I don't think it applies.
  10. We have started packing for our cube. They are delivering the starter pack this morning. Please tell me what TOR is. I'm dreading this bit.
  11. PVC will invite you to prepare documents, police checks, medicals and AOS later in the process. Don't do it at the time of application as police checks and medicals only valid for 12 months.
  12. PVC are currently assessing applications to 20 June 2015. You can follow what is happening with the processing on the main parents visa thread where we all give updates to let each other know of any progress.
  13. I'm in the UK and using my Australian HSBC account now. They sent my card in the post. I registered for Internet banking to activate the card.
  14. From my email yesterday. OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 103) When your application is allocated to a case officer, your eligibility for a visa will be assessed and if you are found to meet eligibility requirements your application will be placed in a queue and assigned a queue date to wait for a visa place. We are currently assessing applications for a queue date lodged in March 2017. We are currently assessing applications for visa grant with a queue date in August 2010.
  15. OFFSHORE APPLICANTS (subclass 143 and 173) When your application is allocated to a case officer, you or your authorised contact will be asked to provide more documents, including (but not limited to) an Assurance of Support (subclass 143 only), police certificates and health clearances to finalise your application. We are currently assessing applications lodged up to 20 June 2015.
  16. I think from reading this blog that there are a few 173 applicants that wish they had gone straight for the 143,.
  17. Great news we are one step nearer. Our son has had the magic telephone call from centrelink today 26 weeks from lodgement.
  18. Has anyone used the service of IOM Australia for travel assistance to get concessional airfare and baggage allowance when migrating. Thanks in advance.
  19. Yes she can. We have visited regularly while waiting for our 143.

    A.O.S for 143 pr

Yes we have been waiting as long as that and no contact yet!
  21. Yes we are using HSBC. We’ve banked with them for over 40 years in UK. Transfers are instant so no messing with transferring your money to other money transfer companies. Up to now the rate is better than others I've looked at.
  22. Hi was Susan Johnson acting for you? If she was maybe any request for documents was sent to her. You would have to advise PVC that she is no longer dealing with your visa.
  23. Yes we were originally using Susan Johnson. Luckily she did lodge our application and we didn't lose any money.
