  1. Lisburn isn't a bad spot, Used to curt a farmers daughter from there! Aww you might as well, Id recommend it to anyone. Where you planning on going to?
  2. Good idea. Ive no idea what to bring and what not too, atleast if you have it there you can get rid of it but if you havent got it and need it thats a different story but still early days for me I suppose. Where you living atm?
  3. it doesn't take long to build up a lot of crap! Packing up waiting on the visa or moving elsewhere for now ?
  4. Dont know if Aussies would get that saying lol You never know, some of the partner visas have been very quick! As long as you've something to do to keep occupied it will fly by!
  5. Met April 2014, Started dating a few months later, I left oz march 2015, Jess came over to NI for 6 Weeks then I went back over for December 15 through to march 16 and again in august and September 16 then Jess came over December 16 to feb 17. Engaged December 16 in dublin.
  6. Check with the airline but I would expect you couldn't, especially with the new security measures. Some aren't even allowing Laptops or tablets now.
  7. They'd only turn it down if they thought it was not a real relationship or on certain character grounds, but if you have the evidence to proof otherwise then there should not be a problem.
  8. Haven't heard of any forum regulars to have theirs denied that I know off! Why do you ask? Not yours I hope?
  9. I was considered a resident for tax purposes because I lived in the same place for more than 6 months. I was able to do this for both my 13/14 WHV and 14/15 WHV, unsure of any new rulings though. From memory it was something mad like 42% if you couldn't get residency tax status
  10. Thats a bit arse about face that! Na I haven't, don't think I will until grant or unless they request more information. I'm not expecting the grant until end of July probably August. When you hoping for?
  11. Mine saying Approved too, You'd think that they could see the fact that the Mater have opened your account to add the medical onto? Good news none the less, its going somewhere for you !
  12. 7th of March got C/O Contact and he requested medicals, Uk & Oz police checks for me and Oz police checks for my fiancee
  13. Youve a fair bit of time to rake up the days, just keep ticking along! She could always try another farm to get some work, no point her sitting waiting if it doesnt come, not ideal but worth it!
  14. how come your partner is not working ? whats your stats? eg date arrived in oz and how long you have left on your first whv? Yeah weekends counted for me, I worked anything up to 18 hours a day, depending on the weather. we got $20 an hour but had to fork out $420 a week on rent and food costs to live at the farm. It can be hard work on a farm, the one I worked on has very high standards so they went through back packers like sweets. I seen over 50 in my 4 months on the farm and only myself, another Irish lad, 2 Estonians, 5 french and 2 German girls lasted the whole time. Just be thankful you've probably missed the most of the hot weather! My highest was 49.5 degrees, total savage! Pretty sure you dont have to do it all in a row anyway. as long as its 88 days in total from memory, move around if you want. Could probably get you a contact for the farm I worked in, theres field work for both lads and ladies or kitchen work for just the ladies too
  15. I think it would depend on what visa you would be applying for. It doesnt make it any quicker and pretty sure you'll have no work rights while you wait. I used an agent and glad we did, especially when you just need to ask a random question or they will tell you that you need to do things this way or that way which you wouldnt have known otherwise. Everyone is on a tight budget but they are worth it, the forum is good and I love checking up on it but its the agents job and they know what you need to do and whats best for you.
  16. I done regional work up in north victoria in a veggie farm, it was hard work and in the middle of nowhere. I was one of the few that worked almost all day everyday so thats what kept me occupied, I could drive a tractor and worked on the machinery. I wondered how I was gona do it too. what kept me going was the determination to get my 2nd whv, and im glad i did because I met my wife to be! Once you've it done youll be glad. What type of work are you doing ? and where ?
  17. 3 Months since submitted today, So hopefully halfway mark! Application changed to in progress last week once we uploaded medical and police checks.
  18. I don't think we done statements, we done the 5 questions on the application form, but typed them out on google docs first before adding them to it. On a side note the Immi account uses very little punctuation so doesnt accept anything other than full stops and maybe commas, on that sections youre limited to 2000 characters.. not words which I made the mistake of doing the first time.
  19. yeah you'd hope not, you'll know in the next weena days or so. hope my directions where good!
  20. And 325 euro later! Mine where uploaded the following Monday after the medical on the Wednesday! Pretty quick I thought
