  1. So... My case officer rang me today at lunch, and asked if I wanted it granted now or do I want to wait.. he litterally asked that lol.. So yeah Granted! Over the moon and relieved is an understatement
  2. Yeah it certainly is! You've no one going over for yours? Im a country boy from Northern Ireland so you can imagine how Big Melbourne felt to me lol Thats Awesome!! Congrats
  3. Hi and welcome to the forum! It would be best to consult a migration agent who specializes in this. I used Jenny from Ian Harrops, she was great! Plenty of other good agents on here too!
  4. Thats awesome! What visa do you plan on going on? And more importantly... Eastern or Western Melbourne
  5. Yeah like Quoll said if you didnt do your regional work to get your 2nd year visa then you have missed out!
  6. I cant see what Lidl can bring thats different to Aldi. We have Lidl here in Northern Ireland but in the Republic its Aldi and its no different to Aldi in Oz or Lidl here! Love both stores though Especially all the junk they sell that I buy but never need
  7. I do believe its 3 days but yeah Im not certain. A week would be safe Id say but you'll have to check with an agent. Go to the Ask an Agent section to get a better answer!
  8. Literally around the corner from my Fiances. Asian tourists loved that place!
  9. Having only 8 coming over, its extremely expensive for my folks etc to come, but glad they can none the less. Yeah Feb can be very warm, but like you said, 4 seasons in one day! To be fair never really done much exploring in the west, I just like how I can head out to the yarra valley and into the mountains really handy from where we are gona be based in the east, its such a nice part of outer Melbourne
  10. I'm a bicycle mechanic by trade, but you'll never find my job role on any list. I got more money packing bread in Tesco than I do as a mechanic, unfortunately its not seen as skilled trade, Which I obviously think it is, especially with the technology and electronics on high performance bikes these days. Thankfully in Australia there is a trend that bike mechanics get more than minimum wage.
  11. Im on the same visa and I am planning on using Move Cube for my stuff and Letton Percival for the insurance!
  12. We are Feb next year, so just on the 9 months mark now. We've our venue and ceremony all booked and the women has her first dress shopping appointment thing booked so its all moving along there. Melbourne too Best city Which part are you going too? Quite a few of us going to eastern suburbs.
  13. Thats Awesome, Im on PMV but not expecting mine for another month or so because our wedding date is a bit later than most others here. When are you getting married and where ya going too ?
  14. Will do, I'll give them a buzz and see !
  15. Going from Tyrone Northern Ireland to outer eastern Melbourne. Thats door to door. Although Ive noticed their closet base is Dublin. I needa check theyll drop the cube up too here, but there was no question about it on the quote. Thanks for the replies. There isnt a PIO discount with them?
  16. Has anyone used the movecube option from sevenseas? It looks pretty good on the website and the video for it. I don't have a huge amount of stuff to move its mostly my bikes and tools so I was probably going to look at a medium cube which is 187cm H x 146cm L x 112cm W. Is there any other options out there that are similar? its fairly expensive £915.00 plus $325 for importing too. Would it be best to just post them in my own box ? which would seem more hassle.
  17. Theres a section on taking pets, check it out plenty seem to have done it. Wish I had a dog to take lol
  18. I love Melbourne, lived there for 2 years on a WHV. I was mainly in the outer eastern suburbs and really liked it. Im moving ( hopefully once the new visa comes through) later in the (uk) summer. Weather wise it is similar at times to the uk but you dont have the same cold that you would get here but on the other hand you do get the extreme highs, overall much better especially if you're an outdoor person. There is a much wider scope for work and opportunity, at least thats what I found coming from Northern Ireland which has a population of about 1.8m to a city with 2.5 times that. Crime Id say really depends on the suburb, there is a list here somewhere with the latest figures. A swimming pool is really one of those things everyone wants but never needs or use 9 out of 10 days. Id only have one if my garden was big enough, id never gave up good garden space for a pool. There is certainly a lot of parks and recreational area's around Melbourne, way more than anywhere here because stuff here just gets trashed and vandalized. Hope that helps
  19. I never noticed that mistake, Takes a women to notice these things. Ive done that too!
  20. Have you booked flights to go? I Can't wait to book that one way ticket!
