  1. This is all really disappointed to read - I was hoping to be granted PR in December 2016 (so 2 years after I applied for 309) It's never insinuated that I'd have to have another mammoth wait (I waited 14 months for the 309!) It is a bit of a joke - this is our lives it affects
  2. I got an email ten months after I applied entitled 'depart for grant' (CO knew I was already in oz) In the email it said I had until mid Feb to leave the country for 3 days. And I had 28 days to reply to the email with my flight details. Then the day before I left I had to email CO to reconfirm/remind them I was leaving. On the 2nd day of my holiday in Fiji I got my grant notification via email.
  3. Thanks Snifter. I am in Oz and have been for a while (had a quick babymoon to Fiji last week to activate the 309)
  4. I live on the west coast and this morning it is super smoky everywhere. In dire need of rain (never thought I'd be wishing for that, I spent all winter moaning about the rain)
  5. I have paid thousands and thousands of dollars, not only in visa fees but in moving costs/plane tickets/medicals/police checks I have spent hours and hours compiling evidence/filling out forms/researching visa I spent 14 months waiting for my visa to be granted All to be with my Australian partner, in Australia! This is the ONLY way to get a partner visa. There is no best and fast way. You have to apply the same way as every other minion does. Sorry!
  6. I'm pretty sure the answer to this is No, but do I need to do anything specific visa-wise before the baby is born in June?
  7. Without me searching back lots of pages, what is all this about? I've just been granted 309, but applied December 2014. I was expecting 100 (so PR) by this coming December. Is this not the case?
  8. Sorry for the very late reply, but yes, I got my depart for grant email which said I needed to reply within 28 days with my flight details, and then reconfirm them the day before I fly.
  9. No, the notice had a date I had to have departed by, which was sometime next year. I had to reply to the notice within 28 days with my flight details.
  10. Not been on here in ages, very surprised to see how quickly visa's are being granted now! Although I have my 'depart for grant' I am not actually departing until February next year (I'm already in Australia) so will be 14 months since lodge to grant for me!
  11. Hey, yes the activation date is 12 months after the date on my USA fbi check (it took ages to get) So the activation date is actually about 18 months after my medicals and UK police check. I'm not sure why! I uploaded the fbi check to my immi account on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning I got the grant email (interestingly it wasn't my CO who granted it!)
  12. I got my 'depart for grant' email just now! I have until 2/10/16 to validate it (12 months from my last police check) 10 months to the day!
  13. That is a generic automated response - I've received a reply both times I emailed that address. Did you have your id/co initals in the subject?
  14. Well I FINALLY got my FBI clearance yesterday after 7 months, so I'm hoping once I upload it and email my CO, I will get the go ahead to leave the country to get my grant. With work and stuff though I don't think I'll be able to get away until next month. We recently found out we are expecting a baby so I will glad to get off this Working Holiday Visa!
  15. My partner and I don't have any of that stuff either (no wills, joint accounts, assets etc) and ours was ok. I printed off 3 months bank stats for each of us (registered at the same address obv) and highlighted everything (stuff like 'general household spending' 'personal expenditure' 'bills' 'transfers' etc )
  16. They never specified a date (except a birth certificate which I had 28 days to upload). I have emailed the CO telling him what the go is with the FBI check. First grant I have seen for someone who applied after me! 9 months exactly is pretty decent.
  17. I hope this is not the case. I applied 27/12/14 and still haven't submitted one of my police checks
  18. Thanks Blossom! My 309 should be granted shortly so I won't be breaching the WHV. And yes I am from the UK
  19. You can do your medicals at any time, it doesn't have to be exactly at 6 months.
  20. I am in Australia about to get my visa subclass 309. I currently have a light greeny/yellow medicare card as I'm on WHV. Centrelink told me to come back when my 309 is granted so I can get a new card. Will it be different to the one I have now? Or will it stay the same until I get the 100? (Permanent residency). Specifically am I covered for pregnancy stuff on this current card?
  21. I'm nearly at 9 months! The wait doesn't get any easier...although I'm already in Oz. Would love to be able to get this bloody visa run to NZ (or Bali if I'm lucky) out the way!
  22. I realise I may be talking to myself here, but if anyone needs to know current time-scales, mine was received July 6th and CC charged today. So just shy of 11 weeks!
