  1. So I had bad news today The FBI rejected my prints! It is quite disappointing after sending them nearly 4 months ago. Will have to get them resent ASAP! This really throws my timeline off!!
  2. My evisitor took several days (and WHV well over a week) so don't worry if it doesn't come straight away. Well the countdown is on for me. I make the big move to Tassie on Sunday. Yikes!
  3. You may have to provide one, but I would just wait until the CO asks for it (if they do at all). Australia police checks only take 1-2 weeks.
  4. Good news silverchair! I still haven't received mine, but it is being sent to Australia rather than the UK. Hoping it will arrive early this coming week.
  5. I'm sure you'll be OK, my CO requested my partners birth certificate as further info, and the medical and police checks. I uploaded the birth cert, UK pcc and had my medical done. Next time I was in contact with CO he said we were still just waiting for my USA police check (which i am still waiting for after 3.5 months!) So I wouldn't worry if that's the only thing that are requesting!
  6. If that's all they asked for then that's all they want. Did you do your medical already?
  7. Fingers crossed anyway, you never know! At least all is not lost and even if it isn't granted by then you can go on a visitor visa.
  8. Might be a bit optimistic!! My CO told me to expect mine granted in December and I applied 2 months before you.
  9. I have OH too - he seems to be the only CO that likes to communicate by phone!
  10. All my stressing yesterday was for nothing, as my WHV was granted overnight :biglaugh: Now to get back to stressing about the partner visa!
  11. Please can someone put my mind at rest? I applied for offshore partner visa 309 in 27th Dec 2014 which is obviously not granted yet. I applied for eVisitor on 1st March 2015 which was granted 2 days later and I went to australia to visit for 2 weeks. On 4th June I applied for a working holiday visa so I can move to Australia and (hopefully) work whilst waiting for the 309 to be granted. Now it's been 8 days since the WHV application and I've had nothing back. My sister has one and was granted within the hour! My flights are booked for 28th June. If I don't get the WHV by then I can still enter on my eVisitor - as the eVisitor will only be overridden by the WHV when it's granted. Is that right? And if it is granted whilst I was in Australia I would have to leave and re-enter to activate it (just like the 309 when that is granted) Anyway, rambling now. Still have 2 weeks but was worrying a bit.
  12. I applied nearly a week ago and still haven't received mine. I don't have any convictions, additional passports etc. Does anyone know if it takes longer if you have another visa pending? I fly in 2 weeks!
  13. Hi Silverchair, great news! I haven't received mine yet, and I am not sure if taking the payment means the prints are ok or not (Hopefully though!) It's a police background check...from the FBI...
  14. It gets overruled by subsequent grants not application, so if the 189 was granted whilst WHV is pending, the minute the WHV was granted it would invalidate the 189. But I imagine the 189 takes a while longer to be granted than a whv
  15. Hi CameronsDad, is the CO's initials not in the subject of the email? Mine went: Application/visa reference number, CO's initials, my name, then 'sec unclassified' You are told to keep that subject in any correspondences to the london migration email address, presumably so the right person looks at it. That's what I did anyway and my CO emailed me this morning. BTW I applied for my Working Holiday Visa on Thursday and it still hasn't been granted! This is nearly as nerve-wrecking as waiting for the 309.
  16. My flights are booked for 28th June so not long for me to wait now. I applied for my Working Holiday Visa on Thursday and still hasnt been granted which is a little worrying! Maybe takes longer when you have another visa pending.
  17. Try Parcelmonkey, I haven't actually used them but they seem to bring up the cheapest option. I am looking to send a box over about 10kg, I just can't seem to get everything I need within the 30kg baggage limit!
  18. Could you not just call the Australian High Commision in London and ask for your case officer (Assuming you know their name) I believe from here it is unusual, but I spoke to my case officer over the phone, they are just normal humans doing a job.
  19. Hi silverchair, this is an exert from the email my case officer sent: You must provide a police clearance certificate(s) for any country in which you have lived in/spent time in for 12 months or more in total in the last 10 years. You must provide a police clearance that includes all names by which you have been known. The police clearance(s) must be a scanned colour copy uploaded to your ImmiAccount. So you can just upload like your other docs. Well thats what I have done anyway!
  20. My credit card finally got charged today, 11 weeks exactly since they received it. Hopefully everything will be OK with it!
  21. This is from the partner visa guidance notes: If you are outside Australia and are unable to get an Australian citizen or Australian permanent residentto complete a statutory declaration in support of your relationship with your partner, you may obtainstatements from people who know you and your sponsor. Such statements are not statutory declarationsunder Australian law. However, in accordance with policy, they should be witnessed or certified accordingto the legal practices of the relevant country. Failing that, they should be witnessed by a personwhose occupation or qualification is comparable to a person included in the prescribed persons list onpages 29–30. This person should sign, date and specify their occupation or qualification at the bottom ofthe statement. So you are right about them not being official stat decs by law, but I'd still get them witnessed!
