Hi All Neil, Maria and our two sons, 13+11 year olds, been in Australia for 6 weeks now! Been staying in Brisbane but wish to locate to Sunshine Coast. Have done several trips up to SC but now need to plant ourselves somewhere!! Important is schools for our sons, but until they re-open end of Jan its quite hard to guage, they all look good on the internet. Like the sound of schools Kawana Waters and Meridian Plains but would love some info or advice on any schools in the area, especially if you or friends have similar children the same age, coming up several days this week, Mon 4th- Thur 7th Jan. We did, I'm free walking tour last year. Normally two tours per day, meeting at the town hall. Very informative, and about three hours long. Done a leisurely pace, its cost nothing but you can tip the guide at the end, I believe we tipped $30. Well worth it!

Hi Everyone. We are a family of four moving to the above area or surrounding areas mid-Nov.We are flexible to areas to live but when on holiday last year loved these areas. DAD (45) Mum (44) and two sons 13 and 11. Love the outdoor life and just wanted to make contact with others who are already living there and advice on everything families need to know. Important to us is good schools for the boys and getting a rental property, have read that most schools you need to be in the catchment,is this your experience? Younger son (11) plays a good standard of soccer so anyone with advice about good teams /academy's that are in these areas really appreciated. Many thanks, Neil

Can anybody help me with any info on the soccer season for boys U12s in Brisbane. We are finally making the move mid-Nov, hopefully settling in the Brighton/Shorncliffe/Sandgate area.When does the season start/finish? Currently my son plays a good standard of soccer here in the UK, so is there any recomdations for teams/academy's in these areas? Many thanks

I've been watching these threads for the last couple of years and Bristol man is the most negative person you can ever ask any advice on Australia. I believe he was found out when he was there and left with his tail well and truely between his legs!! People beware of Bristol man!

Hi, you mentioned the family, child and rent assistance. My wife is a Aussie, two sons 13+11, coming over on a partner visa, hopefully will receive PR. Is there a cap on the above assistance as we will be selling our house and coming over with some cash. Probably will not work for several months so not sure if we will be entitled to any assistance.By the way, kids have broken up for summer holidays and it hasn't stopped raining!! 50mm of rain on Friday and 35mm rain today, I live in Somerset! Boy do I love English summers!!!!!
