  1. Does anyone know whether I can use my medical examination certificate from my 417 for my 457 application? It hasn't expired and my medical circumstances have not changed since I had the examinations. However, I don't know whether there is some restriction as I am now applying from within Australia rather than the UK. I can't seem to see anything on the website to answer my question.
  2. I do, I'd actually forgotten this was nurse alex' post, apologies, I'll start a new one.
  3. Another question, does anyone know whether I can use my medical examination certificate from my 417 for my 457 application, as it hasn't expired? My medical circumstances have not changed since I had the examinations. However, I don't know whether there is some restriction as I am now applying from within Australia rather than the UK. 4. In relation to moving from 417 to a 457, if the 457 isn't granted by the time the condition that you cannot work for longer than 6 months comes up, but the employer is the sponsor, do you have to cease employment with them until the 457 application has been processed and the outcome decided?
  5. Hello, can anyone clarify if there is or is not an existing visa that allows someone from the UK to be sponsored by a grandparent who is a citizen in Australia? Thank you in advance. Gemma
  6. Thanks CaptainC, hadn't noticed the Money and Finance section! Ok flat pack, shame we can't do without one hey!
  7. Hello, hoping someone can advise on what bank to use when my Husband and I go out to Oz at the end of November. Initially for a year. Can anyone recommend what bank/s are good based on rates of transferring money across accounts, rates to pay for the account? There may also be other things to think about in order to make the decision that we haven't yet thought of. Many thanks in advance. Gemma
  8. Thanks Ali. Yes, we've planned on starting that soon after we arrive.
  9. Thank you. Do you know whether you have to be a certain age (18-30) to apply for the second working holiday visa? There doesn't appear to be any restrictions mentioned on the website so I'm hoping that it just applies to the first one. My Husband will turn 31 in June 2016 so we would need to get out there sooner to complete the regional work before applying for the second.
  10. Hi, I've just joined as my Husband and I are planning to go to Australia on a Working Holiday Visa in March 2016. I would ideally like to have a job in the field I am already in and I realise you can only work up to 6 months with any one employer. However, I have been on the VATASSESS website and it says that you should have an assessment if you want to do my particular role, even though it's not a skilled visa I will be on. Can someone confirm whether or not this is correct please? Thank you in advance!
