Thanks for your reply just wondering does anyone know what the story is with smoking weed, I smoke the odd joint and just wondering is this going to show up in my blood and also is there anything I can do to avoid this?

Hi Could someone please advise what I need to get done in my medical for 189 visa? The referral letter that I got just states the following Medical exam Xray chest HIV test im not sure what the medical exam refers to, do I need to give blood and urine samples? Or does anyone know how I find out what exactly is needed? Any help is appreciated

I've a query with regard to my employment history on the 189 visa application stage...... I can't fit all my duties and responsibilities onto the allowed space so I've just put in as much as possible I'm assuming this will be ok and they'll look at my CV and skills/employment assessment for further details? Also I'm assuming I only have to put in my employment history for the years that I can count as having employment in my nominated occupation? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ozmaniac Thanks very much for the clarification again, really appreciate it Only other question I have is my defacto relationship, was I correct to state that I'm in a defacto relationship in both the EOI and the visa application even tho its less than 12 months?

Ozmaniac In the EOI I said that I was NOT going to include him...... Thanks for the advice that makes sense to submit the change of circumstances form and add him once the relationship is registered So with regard to the other question, should I just put a No on it as he's already in Australia?

Hi Just coming back to you with regard to the inclusion of my boyfriend in the following question Does the applicant have any dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents? It states 'not travelling to Australia' but he's already here so therefore I'm really confused now as to what to select Does the applicant have any dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents?

Hi MaggieMay24 Thanks for your reply and information I've already included that he we are in a defacto relationship but we're only together since June so I'm also included that date. We are in the process of getting our relationship registered but it will take 2 weeks. I would prefer to include him so that he can also get PR but I'm worried that it will delay my visa application.....

Hi Ozmaniac Thanks for your reply and information I'm worried that they won't accept him as we haven't been together for more than 12 months, although we are getting our relationship registered so we should have that done in 2 weeks In my expression of interest I said that I wasn't going to have a partner on my application so can I now include him? Also will it delay the visa process if I change my circumstances and later add him?

Hi All I got my invitation to apply for the 189 visa this morning and I want to apply straight away (I'm not using an agent) but I have some queries as follows and was hoping somebody would be able to help me..... 1. Once I submit the application, do I then have to wait for it to be processed before I submit all my necessary documentation? I didn't find anywhere on the application where I am required to do so 2. When do I make the payment for the visa? 3. Can I go ahead and have the medical completed so that it doesn't delay me further down the line? I'm aware that this is all I need for the medical? (a medical examination, a chest x-ray and (if aged 11 years or older or considered appropriate on clinical grounds), an HIV test (if aged 15 years or older or considered appropriate on clinical grounds)) I'm really confused on this question Does the applicant have any dependent family members not travelling to Australia who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents? My boyfriend is currently in Australia on a 457 visa and I've already stated on the application that we're defacto as well as the date the relationship started as requested, I'm not currently adding him to my visa application (although that may change later) I would really appreciate it if anyone has any experience of any of the above and could shed some light on it for me Thanks in advance

Hi Ozmaniac thanks for your reply but I don't see why I can't use any experience after I completed my exams? The membership is only a formal step? Do you think I will be penalised if I do? I'm not submitting my employment assessment as it's not a requirement for the visa i got 20 points in the academic English test so I'm fine with that

Hi i got my employment assessed and they have given me a positive assessment from Mar 2010 onwards which is 5 points for 3+ yrs experience, this is from when my membership to ACCA was approved however I got my final exams in Feb 2009 and therefore I would have 10 points based on 5yrs experience could someone please advise me on whether I can claim the 10 points for 5yrs experience instead of the 5 points for just 3 yrs im a qualified accountant about to submit my EOI i appreciate any help on this at all

Hi all just a quick question with regard to points I can claim ive just received my positive skills assessment and it states the highest qualification assessed is a bachelor so can I now claim 15 points for this? I just want to make sure before I submit my EOI

Thanks for your responses i thought that you had to pick one code and ensure it was relevant to all work experience etc wrussell why do you think it's s waste of time? Are you saying I should only get my skills assessed?

​Hi I've just found out that I can't apply for my skilled migration visa due to the fact that my skills will not be assessed because I don't have a relevant finance degree, instead I completed my ACCA exams as a mature student. I'm in Brisbane on a tourist visa but really need to start working and my only option now is obtaining sponsorship Could someone please advise what is the best way to go about doing this? Hi All I'm just about to get my skills assessed with CPA and wondering someone please give me some guidance; 1. I'm not sure which ANZSEO Code to pick between General Accountant and Management Accountant - what do most people go for? I'm ACCA qualified and they say to pick whichever best describes your qualification but my qualification covers both 2. Is it true that you need to have a relevant degree in order to obtain the skills assessment and then later the visa? I didn't do a degree prior to my ACCA exams and started at the beginning of the ACCA instead of doing a degree and then gaining exemptions from the first few ACCA exams Is there any one who has been in the same situation that could let me know of their experience? 3. What is the difference between 189 and 190 visa? Is it just the state sponsorship? Can I select to get state sponsored on the 189 visa and if the option is there they grant it and if not, so be it? I'm so confused with all this and I can't afford to use an agent so I want to complete all myself Any help would be greatly appreciated
