  1. Yeah glamorous birthdays all round, our removal company will be packing my kitchen on my birthday pmsl whoop whoop!!!!
  2. I did the Form 80 which I think is fairly similar to the 1221 which a mate of mine completed rather than the 80. Much of a muchness. We both got our 100 visas within 3 months.
  3. Scan your documents in, colour copies. They won't accept black and white unless they're all notarised by a solicitor. Colour scans can be uncertified. Don't know thag photos will be good enough quality but someone else may well comment. Try to get your docs loaded up within first two weeks. It appears that applications go thru some kind of triage. I had my docs uploaded within a week and was contacted end of that week and medicals requested. Medical includes a blood test so there is a needle. I don't like needles either but it was fine. Other than that, it was blood pressure, urine sample, chest x ray, height, weight etc. I was told by my case officer that mine was a really well put together application, and I wasn't asked for any additional info, other than poloce checks and meds. I scanned in documents in groups, so one PDF contained 80 individual pages, all annotated, for financial evidence. I had another of these files for social evidence, etc. Good luck with the process!!!
  4. If you go to Aus on tourist visa and apply onshore, it depends on tourist visa and any conditions like no further stay. They also will not like it as you've entered as a tourist but in a misleading way, cos that's not your real intention. I wouldn't do it.
  5. Apply for it in England, offshore is faster processing. I was advised by Service Centre last month that I could travel to Aus on a 651 visitor visa on a "reccie" until my partner visa was granted. They said as long as I inform Immigration of my plans, it wouldn't affect my partner visa application. Flipside to that is having to book an onward flight rather than one way, having to leave every 3 months for.a few days, and not being able to work, but we would have been together as a family. However my offshore partner visa, granted yesterday, took 3 months from start to finish so am able to travel on PR next month.
  6. Thanks Jen!! You sound as tho you're having a fab time!! Good luck with the arrival and job!! X
  7. You're right about difficulties in securing decent work on bridging visas as employers seem to be very suspicious! The timings were changed mid April, I'll put them in below: Family and partner visas (75% - 90%) 300 Prospective Marriage 12 months 16 months 820 Partner (Temporary) 17 months 20 months 801 Partner (Permanent) 15 months 20 months 309 Partner (Provisional) 11 months 16 months 100 Partner (Migrant) 13 months 22 months
  8. Good luck. I know the onshore is longer than the offshore, as we were considering flying to Oz and doing the onshore and was advised by an agent to hold off and apply in the UK as it would be processed quicker. I know they are long times as a mate of mine waited 14 months for her onshore partner visa, although she was on a bridging visa and could still work and stuff so it was no big deal for her per se but I know they've also not long updated the processing times and the maximum is now listed as 22 months, but you'd like to think that most wouldn't have to wait anywhere near that!!!
  9. I knew I would really miss Amazon, but now I know it's coming to Oz, I think I'll be okay!
  10. How about statutory declarations from friends, confirming your relationship is genuine? Maybe 3-4 of those could work for you. Also do you have any invites for social events addressed to both of you? Or banking evidence where one of you has transferred money to the other?
  11. I would imagine you'll get your 309 granted by early June latest!!! Good luck!!!
  12. Judging from what you said in your other post, your case is as straightforward as mine and same for TinaK as well, so hopefully you'll hear soon!! X
  13. I've just got my grant, straight to 100. We applied early Feb so three months. We leave the UK 11/6!
  14. Fingers crossed for you! Where you headed? My 3 months is tomorrow! I had so much contact from CO chasing AFP last week, and I uploaded that on Thurs night. I know London office was closed 27/4-1/5, they reopened this morning!
  15. Well, I'm really hoping although I have an e651 on standby if needs be!!! I really hope that I don't have to go down that route though!!
  16. Whoop whoop!! You're buying the drinks in Melb cos you got yours first lol
  17. You would need to apply to the UK Courts to ask for formal permission to remove the child from the UK, without the other parent's consent. The child's father would have joint parental responsibility and so can also put up a defence against you taking the child out of the country, especially if there are grandparents and extended family. Under the laws of the Hague Convention, to which both the UK and Australia are signed up to, they use the rule of habitual residence of the child, and at the moment, it's definitely the UK. You would need to get a good immigration lawyer to put up a case to prove why it is in the best interests of the child to remove them from the UK. The other side will scrutinise your proposal carefully, including looking at how stable your relationship is, whether you could afford to support the child for definite, and also looking at how long you and the mother have been together, etc. Part of this scrutiny will include how solid your job situation is, how definite your visa situation is and all that kind of thing - you would need to ensure you could obtain your visa, etc, before you start the court process. And be warned, it's not a cheap process. I think also once you have been granted permission to leave UK, that you have to register the situation with the Australian courts as well. As Snifter said above, there are other threads on this. Good luck!
  18. Yeah they will email if they've any other information requests. I've been at the Assessment in Progress bit for a week or so now. TinaK is the same. Haha re checking the Immi account. I did wonder whether the case workers can see how many times you've logged in! Lovely re Perth - I've got cousins in Ocean Reef to the north of the city. Gorgeous place. We're heading to Melbourne - I refuse to go to Sydney where my husband is from lol. You must be itching to get back home!!
  19. That's really interesting as I was last in Adelaide in 2006 and hated it, but loved South Australia and indeed got married in Barossa. My best friend from home lives there now, and I'm looking forward to visiting her and seeing how much the city has changed! Fabulous description!
  20. Pmsl you are so right. We've been selling things we are not taking, and polishing up our cv's and stuff. It keeps us busy through the seemingly endless waiting haha ?
  21. 309/100 page updated today on DIBP website. Extended processing times for 309/100: http://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/309-
  22. Yeah there's a few of us with text-book straight forward cases, and hopefully if the trend continues, you'll get a quick grant. Some people who also have had straightforward cases have waited 6 months. It's hard to know how DIBP work, I've given up trying!! Join our other thread, a few of us are keeping an eye on everything over there! Where in Oz are you hoping to end up?!
