  6. Presumably, this must have been a "red" my daughter has a TM in the Uk, there's was just a normal price paid for a puppy. He's daft as a brush, beautiful and both his parents were winners at Crufts. He won't be having a facelift! Why would this beautiful face need one?

    Colds!

Back in 2002 I had a completely blocked sinus. I had endoscopic nasal surgery to clear it and ventilate it. One of the benefits of this, is that I haven't had a single cold since. I have spoken to others who have had this surgery, and they have had the same benefit. It's a well kept secret I think. I used to hate having colds, especially a blocked nose, I could never sleep properly because of it. When I went down with one, I always knew I wouldn't sleep well for about 3 nights, till it eased.
  8. We are currently living in a lovely suburb north of Perth. Within two weeks of arriving in September 2011, our car was broken into in a beachside car park, while we were exploring. My handbag (beachbag) was stolen, yes I know I shouldn't have left it in the car, and normally I drive my husband nuts hiding stuff away in the boot, under the carpet, around the spare wheel etc. But I was lulled into a false sense of security (holiday mode) and we didn't even leave the car park. It sloped down slightly towards the beach, it was breezy, and we were only away from the car for less than two minutes, when we got back window smashed, bag gone. As we hadn't settled into a rental at that stage, I had the world in my handbag, phone, driving license etc, all gone! Fast forward to April 2012, we had gone out in the evening for about an hour. Lights on in the house, car on the drive, alarm set, and we still had a serious attempted burglary at our rental property. They didn't gain access, but it wasn't for the lack of trying. Discussing this with the police, I said I thought this was a nice area, the police man said, "Yes it is a nice area, that's why it's targeted" I had never been a victim of crime in the Uk either.
  9. Welcome to PIO and keep posting and let us know how things are going.
  10. It was really sad circumstances that took you back Salma, but it will be happy ones that bring you back to Oz. All the best for your safe return, and I'm sure your husband is looking forward to your return too.
  11. Before we came to Oz, I bathed every day, hated showers. In our ensuite in our rental we have a huge double shower, no flappy shower curtain, so I've been converted. However we do have a huge spa bath, which I've only used once in 18 months as it takes so long to fill ......... Downstairs we have another bathroom with a bath in it, it's not particularly short in length, but is very low and quite shallow, and no shower over.
  12. Since coming to Oz, I guess we have gone out more together. Back in the Uk, both working, no problems going out with our own work colleagues/ any other social occasions separately. It's good to have a mix!
  13. I saw the pictures of this, it was amazing. I didn't realise that sharks would come into such shallow water. It didn't look deep enough for the shark to swim in!
  14. I know someone not too far away who is also quite good at that!
  15. All the best, i've read your posts all the way through your journey, and thought you had been quiet for a while. Glad you've made your decision, and you can tell that you are happy with it. Good luck!
  16. Just one thing I picked up on in your post. You did say if you come here and don't like it you can't afford to go back. Maybe delay coming for a little longer and make sure you have a contingency fund, so you could afford to go back if you don't like it. It may make the decision to come easier.
  17. We are here on a two year secondment and we have left two adult children in the UK (28 and 26) while we don't need each other on a practical level any more, we do want to be part of each other's lives. We were apart when both went through different uni's, but I have missed them loads while here. Our secondment is due to end in September and people ask me if we would like to stay. I am enjoying being here, and love certain things about Oz, but wouldn't want to be on the other side of the world to my kids long term. I know they could take off somewhere themselves, and that's their decision, but nothing on the cards at the moment.
  18. Wow, this brought tears to my eyes! to the OP, thinking of you, know how it feels, very sad time, it will get easier!
  19. I think this was serialised in the UK recently, when I was back.
  20. Don't worry, i'm not the naive sort, and I've been round the block once or twice, or three times even Lol! I have no intention of taking it seriously, but as others have said, it is worth their while, because they will get a percentage who unfortunately will follow it up.
  21. Actually, I don't think I have really, but this is what the text message said that I received on my mobile this morning. Apparently my mobile phone number has won this in a random draw in the UK. Strange seeing as my mobile is an Oz mobile. Anyone else had this?
