  1. Hi As far as I aware no one was contacted. I think they only do this is you do not sent sufficient proof. Im sure you will be fine let us know how you get on
  2. No this is not for 457 you can apply to NT for 190 / 489 state sponsorship if you have a occupation on the CSOL. They want to know you will be able to secure employment. The best way for them to offer you sponsorship is if you have a job offer. You could try emailing employers in the territory and ask them their thoughts on you being able to secure employment on your arrival and submit their responses to the NT as part of your evidence, you could also look on the job websites and send them all relevant job adverts it will all strengthen your case Good luck
  3. Hi they will be asking for these as evidence of your work experience. I guess you are using points for 10years experience? They need to validate this
  4. NSW are still offering sponsorship for University lecturer. It is on their 2014/15 updated list
  5. I submitted my documents to Vetassess last August and got my positive outcome in November. A whole 17 weeks later. I was sick of waiting they took so long!!! Don't know if it is any better now since you can now electronically upload documents. I had to send everything by snail snail when I applied
  6. I submitted EOI first. That way when SS is approved you are good to go
  7. Hi It means if you have an occupation that is not on the NT state list but IS on the CSOL the NT government will sponsor you so long as you can show good employment prospects in your nominated occupation in the NT. It basically means if you can get a job offer they will sponsor you (saves going down the 457 route) My occupation is on the CSOL but not on NT state list but I secured state sponsorship with NT (I had a job offer)
  8. I had already completed my EOI a couple of months before applying but you can apply to the NT as soon as your EOI has been submitted. They are really quick at acknowledging receipt and I think their standard processing time is 1-2 weeks so quick compared to a lot of other states. One thing to bear in mind. When you are invited to apply for your visa through skillselect you are given 60 days, however NT only allow 28 days what I am trying to say is you think you have 60 days to lodge your visa application through Skill-select but in fact you only have 28 days otherwise you have to re-apply for state sponsorship (Hope that makes sense?) When looking for employers I got most contacts from Yell.com.au, seemed like the easiest way. If you need any help with the commitment statement give me a shout
  9. Have you tried emailing employers in the Territory? I sent an email to all relevant employers, initially to get a feel of what work was available. If you can get a few emails back, positive in that they would employ you should you be in the Territory it can really help with your application. This is what I did prior to applying and I got lucky and had a job offer. Since I had an offer of employment my application was plain sailing. I personally would put both the 190 and the 489 in the EOI that way you cover all bases as once an application has been put in and you are invited to apply your EOI is frozen so you cant add or amend anything. Then just go ahead and apply for 190 with NT. It is up to them then whether or not they offer you the 190 or bump you to the 489. I do know they are looking for a well researched commitment to the Territory statement so make sure you put a lot of thought and research into that, you will be fine im sure just go for it. Good luck
  10. Hi I was granted state sponsorship 2 days after applying (my employer played a part in that though I think) and was invited to apply the same day It was really quick. The 489 is not such a bad thing. I know its only a temp visa but once you have fulfilled your 2 years and 1 years employment it is just a matter of ticking a couple of boxes and you will have your PR. If you are applying to NT because that's actually where you want to be that should be easy enough. Obviously if you fill all the criteria for the 190 go for that but if not the 489 is not the end of the world. NT do tend to bump people to the 489 if a) they don't have strong family ties to the NT or b) do not have a job offer. Best of luck
  11. Hi, I also applied for NT SS. I submitted my EOI first and then my NT SS. That way as soon as NT have your application they can upload to skillselect and you will receive an invitation to apply. In regards to the finances this was waivered for me as I had a job offer in place. If I hadn't I was planning on having all my assets valued and sending this as proof (as I too don't have that kind of money in the bank) so my house, car, jewellery etc. Hope this helps and good luck.
  12. Hi, I was in the same situation, didn't want my employer to know my plans until everything was concrete. If this is for Vetassess I just did a statutory declaration for the whole 10 years I have been with the company. I had no problems and got a positive outcome. Good luck
  13. Hi I applied for state sponsorship from the NT. I did not have to prove net assets as I have a job setup to go to so they advised it wasn't necessary to prove this. Prior to learning I didn't need to prove I was going to have my house and car valued and send copies of these. Plus bank statements to show available funds. e don't have £30,000 in the bank hence why were having the house valued. Hope this helps
  14. I've been assessed under Anzsco code 511112 Project Administrator
  15. Hi You would be in a better position if you had a visa in hand granted but there is no reason you cannot start talking to prospective employers. I literally sent out CV'S to all relevant employers, a lot of them did say contact us once you are here but we also got a lot of positive responses too. I've done quite a lot of SKYPING with employers in Aus and it paid off (or maybe I just got lucky) but it is definitely possible to secure a job whilst in the UK and before a visa is granted. Good Luck
  16. We're heading for Darwin. We both have job offers in hand, just need to sell the house and we're off!!! ::biggrin:
  17. Hi We're from Huddersfield too!!! We have applied for State sponsorship so don't have a direct answer for your question as you are applying for a 189 but we were invited to apply 12hrs after state sponsorship was approved. Where are you heading? Best of luck
  18. Thanks all for your responses. I managed to find a email address for Immi and received the following response: "In relation to your query, please note that your application needs to reflect the same information provided with the EOI. It is possible to make an application with your current passport and once you obtain a new passport you can update the Immigration Department" Feel much better now and can get on with the application whilst I wait for my new passport Thanks again
  19. You will see on my original post the passport did not even cross my mind until the other day and I have already said I am going to send this off straight away to be renewed. The problem is if I cant use my old passport in the time being I cannot get on with the visa application until my new passport comes back and i'm sure you are aware we only have 60 days to lodge the application. I never mentioned not wanting to spend any money or looking for a way to get around it, I was just after a little friendly advice on whether I could use this passport for the time being whilst I wait for my new one to enable me to get on with the application!!!
  20. I am applying for the visa in my married name as I did change my name when we married....on everything apart from the passport. Therefore would it cause a problem to apply for the visa in my married name with my passport still in my maiden name? Do you know of an email address for Immi so I could get a definitive answer on this?
  21. Hi everyone, I have this morning received my invitation to apply, which of course we are super excited about, seems to have taken for ever to have got here after so many twists and turns and numerous hoops jumped through!! The problem I have is my passport is still in my maiden name (this never even crossed my mind earlier) we have been married 5 years but my passport had 9 years left on it when we got married, so still 4 years left now, ive just always booked our holidays in my maiden name!!! The question is can I use the passport I have in my maiden name to apply for the visa and amend this as soon as I receive a new one (which I know I am going to have to get and am planning on sending this off right away)? I have looked on Skill select and it does say you are able to amend a name on a passport as long as you send official proof, marriage certificate etc. Not sure if this counts in this instance as im applying for the visa in my married name not my maiden name. Does anyone know a email address so I can contact immi? I cant find one on the website. If anyone has been in the same situation, have any advice or an email address I can forward my question to it would be much appreciated Thanks Claire

    What to do??

The Visa is state sponsorship in the NT. As my job is not on the NT State list but on the CSOL the NT will still sponsor if you can prove good employment prospects. Therefore with my job offer I am eligible for state sponsorship. It is a permanent visa and current processing time for SS for NT is 3-4 weeks, although my employer has spoken to them as she knows a couple of people there to try and rush this through (Obviously she doesn't want to be waiting and waiting for me to arrive). I appreciate that we will have no control over immigration in regards to getting the actual visa processed but looking on here I see peoples visas are getting processed in around 2 months. I know this buys me a little time but what do I do with the dogs for the further 3/4 months? In regards to my partner staying in the UK for the 6 months, I don't think I could do it on my own!! I really would like us all to go together!

    What to do??

Hi all, I have a little bit of a dilemma. I have been lucky enough to secure a full time permanent job in Australia. It came totally out of the blue and we are over the moon that our Australian dreams are turning into a reality. As this has come out of the blue the employer obviously wants me to take up my post as soon as possible My problem is we have 3 dogs who we have always had the intention of taking with us should the opportunity to emigrate arise. I always thought I would have more time to organise this when the time came. As the dogs have to remain in the UK for six months after the rabies injection before they are allowed to travel to Australia, I don't know what to do. We don't have anyone to leave them with to send on after the 6 months and I wouldn't dream of rehoming them. Does any one have any ideas how we can get around this situation? Anyone found themselves in a similar situation? Thanks
  24. I would drop SA a email just enquiring how long the current processing time is. I did for NT and they replied straight back saying between 1-2 weeks. Good luck

    Vetasess

Not sure about the agent bit as I didn't use one, however I don't think they are fobbing you off as once my status changed to completed it took about 2 weeks to receive the letter through the post. They wont tell you the outcome over the phone or by email, they will however fax the outcome letter to you if you ask. Good luck
