Hi, we applied for our 489 visas when my daughter was 17 back in December 2017 in feb 2018 1 wek after her 18th birthday our application was picked up by a CO and they asked for extra info, my question is are they supposed to process the age she was when we applied or the age she is when they pick up the application tom progress it? cheers

the points have no bearing on the visa grant time for 489 visas, the points only come in to play when applying for state sponsorship.

He could well be right but my timeframe and everyone elses I think he's a bit optimistic, we put our app in the first week of december, heard from co on 19/02 uploaded form 80 on 07/03 and still waiting to hear from the co again.

Makes no sense, every other agent advises to upload everything at once, without it you can't get a direct grant.

Thank you, that's a lot of info, not quite sure what u by until died lol, I'm a qualified diver all be it entry level bit something to work on I guess? I wouldn't mind working for customs and excise, I have seen some IT jobs but think I'd like to try something else, I've done bar work and hospitality in the past, security would be ok wouldn't mind knowing that agency name. Might be worth doing some of those courses, the more I have the easier to find employment.

hi, I'm moving to hopefully Cairns in September if not will be in rural qld where-ever the wife can get a job, but I'd like to do a short training course in a popular trade in rural qld, but I have no idea what trades are popular or in need, if any can suggest something that'd be great. I currently work in IT.

Logged ours in early december, co asked for form 80 on 19/02 submitted a week later on 26th feb, no news since.

The surgery has left her partially disabled, not too sure on disability laws in au

Hi, My wife is a midwife, we're moving to qld on a 489 hopefully in September or October 2018, she had a tfcc tear in her wrist meaning she can only work on antinatal wards, is she unemployable? Cheers

We applied to qld and got a grant within 1 week

I think the way it was explained to me by my agent and I could be wrong, but each person has to satisfy the terms of the visa, I asked if my 18yr old could come over at a later date I was told yes but she would have to serve the 2yrs separately meaning we would be pr before her and that no one could live or work outside the regional areas in our family.

We submitted ours on 08/12/17 but front loaded all docs, we've not heard anything yet, hopefully that's just because we front loaded everything and the co (if we have one) has no need to contact us? [emoji53]
