  1. Must be an ex military disgrunted customer, or they stopped paying the hells angels their protection money
  2. Hi there, you would only need to take out the compulsory medical insurance if you on a 457. Medicare and hospital visits, free. If you see a doctor and you can go to any one you like. Some practices will `bulk bill`(send the bill direct to medicare ) others will charge and you can claim a proportion of the charge directly back at the surgery or by visiting and medicare office. Hope this helps.
  3. Busselton is beautifull and one of the reasons I wanted to move to this area, not busy workwise and a 50km commute to Bunbury, Dalyelup is home to a lot of fly in and fly out wifes, small ish blocks, a lot of building still going on and house prices approx $100 ish dollars more than the rest of town. Have a drive around before choosing where to live. Good luck with the move.
  4. strange but true, weather to bad to go fishing Bob?
  5. An orginisation like Outback stores maybe an entry, they run remote stores across nt, sa, all are pretty remote, they are the sort of people who may sponsor you in, but you would have to commit to a couple of years in the communities which you may find either hard going or an adventure depending on your outlook , good luck.
  6. would be intrested in how much they are going to charge to import.
  7. First before anything else is a job, then you choose where you are living. Plenty of skilled work in the Bunbury area. Too many people choose an area then find thay have a massive commute to work and get brassed of by the whole thing. You can allways move later or find another employer. Good luck
  8. Hi there, very tough drive and the garage in Alice I worked at would see a lot of broken cars recovered in from there, be prepared, take it easy and put plenty of time aside and you will be fine, take a couple of fuel filters with and learn how to change them, fuel quality is average to poor. Good luck.
  9. Hi there, and welcome to oz. We moved to Bunbury a couple of months ago after working in Alice springs for a while. We had visited the south west a few times and wanted to return. We moved to the north end on the estuary in Australind. Pm yur details and I will get my wife to get in touch and say hi.
  10. Hi there, we went this route and had a few up and downs. Finding a sponsor is tough. The net search I posted was from seek, with engineer and visa as the only critera. Narrowing down where you want to go may make it harder to find a sponsor, if the only jobs in his line who will sponsor are in say Adelaide, then the job/sponsor comes first. Good luck
  11. Its not just the headline pay with most government or Police jobs, most employers will allow you ``salary sacrifice`` ie have rent or motgage paid out of your salary pre tax and therefore drop you a tax band. Good luuck.
  12. Good luck all, was there last week and only just got out of gatwick with the snow falling heavilly.
  13. Cool, good luck. Much cooler than Perth weather wise, some very very good beaches and fishing all round there. Only passed through but wanted to stay longer.
  14. Well done, same here. Good to know you can plan ahead now etc. Instead of thinking `what happens if the company folds?``
  15. Hi there, we have been here since the last days of September. Was an area I knew well from preivious backpacking and holidays etc. Lots of skilled work around though very little office type jobs for the ladies. It is a very familly type place and we love it here I will be honest. Its around two hours into Perth or you can park and ride at Mandurah and train into the city centre. We moved into a rental within a few days of being here in the north end of town overlooking the sea. After Alice springs where 420 gets you a unit, 330 for a 3 bed house seems very resonable. Good luck if you make the move, any specific info you need just ask.
  16. Cold beer! Good luck with the move, sounds like you are on top of the paperwork.
  17. Well done, when are you heading over?
  18. Hi there, admin jobs seem tough to find in the area, my wife and I moved here a couple of months ago. Our situation is diffeernt though, my wife is loking for part time, there are some mining companies based in the area who ar paying high 40s to early 50s for admin. Rents are (after moving from Alice springs) to us very cheap. 300 will get a very nice place in the burbs or even 280 in areas like usher. We are not big earners but have a good lifestyle and have made some friends here after only a couple of months. Good luck whatever you choose.
  19. Hi there, we moved 10 mintes North of the town centre on the edge of Australind. fishing 300 metres from the front door and playpark on the foreshore. We took only a 6 month rental which the landlord was ok with.
  20. Good luck, we stayed in one of the discovery parks park homes and found a rental and moved in within a week. We had visited before and had a very good idea where we wanted to be. In our case an established older suburb near the sea which isn`t a building site -). Have you been to the south west before? We are mum dad and a toddler, say hi when you arrive, we are in the Uk for our first trip back in Jan.
  21. Hi there, I am looking at camper trailers etc over here, Jayco pop tops etc. 18000-20000 over here and $2000 in the Uk, what are the rules/costs reguarding camper trailers etc?
  22. Hi, another sussex boy heading to OZ, good luck with the move.
  23. I would advise as I have on other threads, job first, then choose where you are going to work/live, a lot of companies outside of the cities would think about sponsoring, the idea is to get a foot in the door and over here. Good luck.
  24. Well done, and good luck with the move, that part of the coast and most of the coast in Wa is lovely, we would like to move there one day and settle in Busselton Or bunbury.
