We applied in December, shouldof dobe it years ago lived here over 6 years... however, we appreciate they are short staffed loads of backlog due to an inept government .,, I wouldn't complain or protest personally as well just wait and get it when given ... no one has a right to citizenship... so shouldn't really be complaining just be patient it's not immigrations fault the government are incompetent.

I have to agree completely, our ADSL was appalling, we switched over in May of last year, loads of teething trouble but now we can consistently use the internet. sometimes it slows....however 95% of the time its great now we are on 20/50 with speed boost with Foxtel. we are on FTTN.

Question 13, asks what details are incorrect. State you put your child's details wrong. you still have to input dob passport details etc ... then you sign on behalf of the child as it is under 18.

I really don't think the point of blame should be with the DIBC, I think you need to complain to the local federal MP, these are the people cutting 300+ staff, these are the ones who change the laws .... the work load has increased 10 fold, and there are constant applications being put in ... maybe request a FOI request asking how many applications to how many officers etc ... a lot of the delays were held up by federal government .. of course it's not acceptable, but the department can't be blamed for governemente legislation.

In what context does it matter, I would of assumed, it would be based on merit rather than the country of origin... provided you meet the set criteria.. it shouldn't matter ...

Could it be due to the new immigration rules causing the delay, I only submitted ours on the 12th of December, so expect a long wait for any test. Let alone approval etc.

Did you have an accountant ? .... you can get references from people whom you did work for ... do you have formal qualifications from the city & Guilds or say NVQ level 3 etc .. you would be surprised how much information you have but assume you do not ...

if you look at companies such as Sydney trains, NSW trainlink etc, they sometimes sponsor people .. not sure on other states, but if you google the contractors who do the rail system repairs they need P&D's ... its worth a shot.

I only sent off the application on the 12th of December, we will be in for a long wait ... They are asking us to upload all the identity and proof etc, however, as we had to do a paper based application it was all sent via the application.

Hi Eddie and Juncobalt, please see, I have edited to remove any personal information .. this is the letter we got we only applied on the 12th December this year have you received this confirmation letter it seem generic it shows the application id on it ... file 11.pdf

hi Juncobalt. did you use the client ID or the application ID? ... I used the application id, when the immigration Dept emailed you the "Acknowledgement of receipt of an application for Australian citizenship" open up the PDF, look down to the application id just above the email address you gave you, should be an 8 digit ID number. ... if you enter that one it should work.... same for you eddie. I am a NSW resident .... I know it sounds silly but did you refresh the browser, also the DOB section does jump so check the correct date of birth .... all 4 of ours were loaded successfully.

Hey Eddie, I have been able to upload my application on line ... If you have an immi account, all you need to do is copy and paste the reference number of your applications, add you date of birth, passport number, and country. Once that is done, it should import the application on to the online account, I hope it helps I did it today.

I put the application in last Monday, I was called today to say payment will be taken and they are starting to process our applications.

I believe you can, I noted on the application it did ask if you were looking at travelling overseas ...

I checked on the Auspost tracker, our paper application was recieved at the Sydney office last Tuesday, (expired passports wasn't able to do online). Does anyone nowhere I can check or it is just await the email to stay they have recieved the application.

It should be number 37, the GP shouldn't charge you, could I suggest you call the receptionist ... I got mine done by my GP for free....

Ring up the medical centre you use ... see if a regular GP you use will do it..

I have just applied, I had to do a paper application due to expired passports, the 1195form is for the photos that you will get certified via an approved person ... if you go to immi.gov.au and create an account you can access your application .. that's what my wife did and it was in 2008 our application ... it also ensures your details are correct you can confirm and double check dates etc.

Can you not self manage your super? It will take away all the pesky charges .l hear a few do self manage over here, could be tricky from the UK ...

just a bit of advice, the licence will show up as expired on the database .. and if you are pulled for a RBT then chances are you are fined etc ... for the 100$ is it really worth it .. just go the local office and get a 12 month licence ...

Call up your loyalty department and advise them you will make a complaint to the telco ominbusman... as they are not reasonably supplying as per contract ... you should be able to get compensation for loss of service
